Great place to pick up some goodies! Yes, it's a bit expensive, but I'd rather pay more for my health and safety. Always buy from a licensed dispensary!!!!!!! Anyways, all the people running the store are very knowledgeable and informative. If you have any questions, ask em. They know what they're talking about!

Great staff and prices. You can smell the flower from the street, which is always a good indication that they have what you need! Definitely give them a shot!

This is a great place for flower, but they have a very limited selection of prerolls and disposable vapes. I get excellent service if Adam (or is it Andy) or Lathan is there, otherwise you'll get tons of attitude.  I use to frequent this place often, but lately have been put iff by lazy service.

This dispensary has been my go-to for a couple of years now. They have a narrow parking lot but most of the time you can snag a meter out front. They have an excellent variety of flower, as well as CBD products. Honestly they probably have anything you're looking for, I'm never disappointed whether I'm buying cartridges, edibles, pre-rolls or anything! The staff is the best part, everyone is so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have an ATM in the shop if you won't want to use your card, and they also have a point system where you can get free items! Thank you Universal Collective!!

This place is by far the best of the dispensaries in the Universal area. The staff is fantastic and the selection is always best, they often have new items that fit the weekly needs.

Completely new to cannabis, but after doing some research decided to try Universal Collective ((Aside from the great reviews, I also think it's pretty great when someone from a company reads and responds to reviews like Natasha has on a number of them)).Parking is super easy. There were several staff up front when we walked in and they all immediately welcomed us, which was cool. Adam was SO SO SO helpful and nice. First, he took the time to explain everything to us, but second, he really loves his job and it came through in how he helped us. He has encyclopedic knowledge of their products and it made me feel really confident to try a pen and oil. This really could not have been a better experience and I'm just really relieved to get all the information I needed to feel confident and excited to see what this strain could do for my focus and energy :-)  Thank you Adam and UC!

horrible service!! adam was soo rude! there was another lighter complexion customer refusing to put on their mask over their nose and he refused to enforce covid mask regulations .... i had to walk out!!! gross ....i thought we were in an educated part of la. It's an okay collective.  Don't, however, be fooled by the point or incentive system.  I recently took my fully stamped rewards card in for redemption and was told "it expired."  Really, the card I've been carrying around for months and getting stamped every time I come in just happened to expire when I went to redeem it?  LOL.  Okay.

Just got home from UC. First time visiting, and I'm completely new to cannabis, but both people who helped me very friendly and patient. I'll be returning.

Came by with my friends. The sales associates were very helpful in explaining what the different stains do. I like the edibles offered, gummy/cookies are my favorites.Definitely worth more visits from me!

Best dispensary in town. So affordable and very friendly staff members. They are very knowledgeable on the products and have a 1:1 customer employee ratio

Used to love this place but on my 3rd visit, I was in there looking for a specific Sativa strain (Sour D) and they didn't have it so they recommended Fruit snax, which I looked up later and found out to not have any info online, and it was indica. Very strange to be recommended this and drop $40-50 on something that is so off. I called a day later asking to exchange it and they wouldn't let me.

My favorite people and dispensary! Not only are the prices great, the staff is incredibly helpful and actually know what they're talking about. I never feel rushed when I'm in there, and the generous selection of products leaves me incredibly excited to get home to my couch (lol). Also shoutout to their 4/20 deals, they're unbeatable.

This place reminds me of an upscale candy shop, I was pretty blown away by the huge selection, how nice the place is set up, and by the friendliness of the employees. Jessica in particular is a complete sweetheart. She listened to my problems (I have increasingly persistent insomnia and am prone to back pain which isn't helped by the fact I lift weights regularly) and gave me a run down of what types of strains and products can help. I ended up purchasing Bubba Kush but I also got a free gram of GDP for being a FTP. Will definitely be back, they have set the bar!Edit: Forgot to mention they have a rewards program. Do you seriously need more of a reason to visit Universal Collective? :)

Awesome flower in town I live in east LA and come to universal collective to pick up they have pretty great strains all at good prices also cartridges that they have are amazing.

I like that this place is easy to get to - not difficult to park. The person who helped us was super helpful since I know very little about everything.

Adam was a great resource. Very knowledgable and helpful with getting me the right product. I'll be back no doubt!

The ppl who work here are pleasant, cash only is the only annoying thing, but they have an atm so it's not a problem

My wife comes here. She really likes the employees. They are very friendly.They work with you to find what will work for you. The parking sucks, the way it is set up, when done you have to back out. that street gets busy. And parking on the street, good luck. Plenty of choices to choose from. We drive 1 1/2 hours just to come here. And of course L A traffic sucks.But when you find the place, it's that place.

Universal Collective is by the far the best place to get quality medicine. They not only have a great selection of everything you need but they have the BEST service always greeting with a smile. Omg where do I begin....oh I know where. First of all they have dogos which is always a plus for me. Second any top self that is left goes into the 8 a gram bin. And all flow kanas are 5 gram eighths. I just love this place. Plus they have a handy key ring rewards program. You can win anything including this bong I'm saving up for.

I have been a patient for over 2 years, yes, 2 years. I have not ventured away, they know me, what I like, and always have great suggestions on new product. My favorite products are the Bloom cartridges. Exactly what I've been looking for, a clear, coherent, head high, that lasts. Bloom delivers the best, in my opinon. I love the super lemon haze sativa, it's bold, hits hard and keeps you gradually lifted all day. With the mental stability to complete life's tasks. They've also got great edible product, their chocolate blueberry edibles are amazing. Perfect for a light evening in of reading or movie watching. And then there's the CBD product. CBD is the stuff. Cape has wonderfully cbd joints available, they smoke smooth, the pain you're having will vanish, for the day into your sleep, and you'll only need half the joint, it's like Double!They know what they're talking about, they're always happy to be there, never a bad experience with the people here. I have never had an issue with my medical recommendation until I walked into this shop. They claimed my recommendation was not valid because the doctor I received it from had allowed his medical license to expire. I asked him when this information was posted because I have never had an issue and he said he has no idea, and dismissed me with no help. I then called the 24 hour verification on my recommendation and it is still valid. I do not know if this is an issue of race or a misogynistic male disliking me. But I do feel like this business needs to have better customer service. I also contacted my friend who is not African American to go inside to check what is going on. While I contacted the 24 hour verification line. When I returned to tell him that my recommendation was in fact still valid and ask him why he would turn me away. They did not answer the door, my friend physically opened it. This could be something I am taking personal. But I wanted to write a review, maybe others have experienced this also.  I wish I had a chance to go inside to actually review the quality of their weed. But that incident makes me think this shop is a not worth it. PLUM life

In = First Time Patient, Out = Last Time Patient My experience at SCC dba Universal Collective was a textbook example of Good Marketing Gone Wrong, wherein an advertisement was successful at inducing a spontaneous visit from an otherwise non-customer, but once inside fail to follow through and create an upset customer instead. Although, I'm not in any sense 'upset,' I am however annoyed enough offer some feedback on their failure, forthwith.Getting ThereWhoa Nelly! This store is in a tricky spot. Although the address (correctly) indicates it is on Cahuenga Blvd, it is more accurate to describe it as being on the south side of Ventura Blvd about two blocks west of Universal CityWalk and about two blocks east of Lankershim blvd, in Universal City. The shop is mid-block and has a very small parking lot next to it that can only accommodate maybe 6 cars and guarantees that you'll probably have a harrowing experience as you back out onto that almost always busy commuter corridor between Hollywood and the Valley. There is a complimentary valet service (which really isn't complimentary unless you are a d_ck and don't tip), but because of the near nonexistence of parking anywhere reasonably close by it is more of a necessity than a perk.Getting InAs you walk through the doors at Universal Collective, you will encounter a spacious waiting room with ample seating. To the left, an employee is stationed behind a teller window to check patients in. As of Sept. 2017, they require customers to be 18+ years old and have a current original medical recommendation in possession. A single page agreement must be completed and after about 15 minutes you're in.Getting GamedRecently I have been researching and taking advantage of an unusual marketing practice called FTP promotions. First Time Patient promos offer financial based incentives to attract new potential customers, provide an opportunity to become the provider of a solution for immediate and future needs. Loss Leader advertising is usually intended to serve the same purpose, so when I noticed an unusually good deal on weedmaps I decided to take a trip across the Valley; and because the sale expired in about 3 hours, I bit the bullet and ventured out into Thursday night rush hour traffic. According to "Deals" section, FTP's are given a "free"  $10 gram of pot with a minimum $10 purchase. The unusually good deal was one ounce of hybrid shake for $30. Now, it is my contention that a "minimum $10 purchase" requirement is satisfied if I purchase something for $30 bucks. Not at Universal I discovered, where I was told that because I was getting a special weedmaps only deal--I had to spend an additional $10 bucks to get the free gram. So, instead of a $10 minimum it was a $40 minimum--can anybody say "bait and switch"?Honestly, I am more upset for Universal than at them; I had driven by this storefront a hundred times and had never really considered stopping in because of the location. Finally, they succeed in overcoming my reservations only to write my business off over $10? Somebody might want to rethink those policies sometime soon.BTW- the quality of the bargain basement hybrid was so-so-as expected.

The people here are what make this place special! The low prices help also, but the amazing staff is why i keep coming back! The manager Natasha is as kind and patient as you will meet in this industry and the other bud tenders are knowledgeable and friendly, which isn't always the case in cannabis!! Highly recommended!

Top knotch weed shop. As an La transplant for 4 years, I know my shit. If you ever want to buy lower quality weed for a lot of money, this is not the place for you. Trill lyfe.

I am not a fan of their rewards system.  Imagine if Subway had a buy-10-get-next-one-free deal except after you've completed your card of 10 subs and ask for the 11th you're told you need to come in another day to get it.  Fine, so you go in for the 11th on another day but now they say they'll only give you the "free" 11th if you buy a 12th sandwich also...  They had a daily deal today and I bought a gram and got the daily deal.  They wouldn't let me cash out my rewards unless I bought an additional gram.  I went it, spent money, utilized their daily deal and then was told I need to spend more money to cash in my "reward."  It is not much of a daily deal if its punishing me for utilizing it.I used to go to this club a few times a week but now I'll go to WHTC across the street instead.

Went today as a must stop on our trip from NY. Alyssa(hope that's right) helped out tremendously as we have never shopped for weed like this. It's still illegal in NY. She explained everything and was interested in what we would like based on our own personal expectations of our experience smoking or vaping it. Thanks so much. I'm gonna go take a nap now!!

So I've been coming here for over a year now. One, because their green is great. Two, these people are the nicest. Always helpful. Always able to answer my questions. Lots of variety in product. If you need a new spot, then you should go here.

My first visit to a dispensary and it was great.  The bud tender was very helpful and hooked me right up with the best product for my needs.

About a year ago my brother and I came into Universal collective after searching online, we fell in love with this place. It is amazing!!! The staff is so incredibly sweet, they give off such great vibes. I always feel warm and welcomed when I walk in. They are super helpful and they know what they're doing and saying too! They have great deals and beautiful strains. They have everything! I love this place so much I highly recommend going in and checking it out.

Heading back to one of my very favorite dispensaries.This gem of a place in studio city,ca not only has very quality med marijuana products for very compassionate prices but also great service by wonderful budtenders who really care about their patients needs.. They take their time with you making valuable suggestions. The menu is diverse and there are price points for all budgets. The beautiful thing about their pricing is that even their less expensive strains are better than most expensive strains at other dispensaries.  Don't be shy about trying some of their $30 eighths for flowers. You will be shocked.  Also they lab test.  I noticed they have a hybrid strain on the menu that tests over 32 percent thc. Need to pick some of that up this weekend. See you guys soon,William

Universal Collective has incredibly nice and knowledgeable bud tenders who always make you feel welcome when you come thru their doors. Their product is great. And they have tons of delicious edibles and other accessories for smoking or vapping.

Great selection, great atmosphere, great staff! Budtenders are always ready to help you with any questions and recommendations. They offer a great selection of products and often host sales reps for you to try out new products! This is honestly your one stop meets all type of deal!

This is the best dispensary I have found in my 10 years as a patient . I have come here for about two years I believe and they have by business for life . customer service is always so amazing everyone that works there is amazing even the security is awesome . prices are best around and the selection is always large but still easy to navigate thanks to their menus on big screens . In short Best dispensary in California and I've been to as many as you can imagine . thanks universal collective keep it up !

One of the bet dispensaries I have found in LA. It is brightly lit, the staff is attentive and friendly, they always have what I'm looking for, and they always have great deals going on.

I went to this shop about two weeks ago and I was not disappointed,  has  really  nice options. Everyone here is super friendly and funny everytime I've gone. Today I'm my recommending a friend. By far one of best shops I've been in the valley.

Short version: Increasing levels of distrust with how this location conducts itself over the last year means I cannot recommend you giving them your business.--------------------------------------------------------------------For years I went to this location when it was SCC. SCC was fantastic with helpful and nice staff (sometimes one of the guys would even WALK me out the door to make sure I was safe on exit) and good selections of products and generous patient appreciation deals. Then I showed up one day about a year ago and wondered where I was. UC. I was at UC, the same exact location providing the same services, but nothing like the previous location.Some of the problems I've had:- Deceptive advertising. Do you know why they don't have any 8th over $30? Because any strains that go for more than $30/8th are only available by the 1 gram. - labels printed with people's names + the exact contents (absolutely no one I talked to has seen this before and I was immediately warned by friends to run the other direction. I persisted at this location and they will remove your name from the label, but you need to ask.) In the same line, I've seen photos with random patients in the location/in line to get in posted on Instagram. I certainly hope they understand the privacy implications of people showing up in the background of such photos and that they are asking for permission from EVERYONE that is in the photo before posting it online. This is still a sensitive topic for some people.- most staff won't let you actually look/smell as you would like to select a strain. Sometimes they will just let you see a tiny jar with 2 buds you have no idea are representative of the actual batch. With other staff, your experience might be like mine today: I had someone open a jar, shove it under my nose for 2 seconds and then pull it away and close it and then looked at me waiting for me to tell them what I wanted. Being able to look at the flowers, get a good smell and see what the general contents look like (full of stems, leaves, shake, seeds, etc.) is part of my selection process and this has only been a problem since it became UC.- Deceptive give away announcements. There are staff that know me by name here (only a couple of people remain from the SCC days, but even new staff know me by name. I come in pretty regularly because it's the only place I've gone the last few years.) Yet somehow on days with any sorts of give aways, they run out by the time I arrive (This has happened multiple times to me. They also don't tell you they ran out at any point. They will still have signs all over in the waiting room & on the walls announcing the giveaway even though they've been out of the freebie for hours.) Is this really a nice way to treat long time patients that help support YOUR business when you are giving bags of freebies to people that only show up on freebie day? Then today I was told "but we gave you a free 8th."  (the most freebie that day was advertised as a goodie bag + a free 8th) When I got home, I saw a free gram in my bag. Being lied to sucks. When I ask about the freebie, I've also been told on multiple occasions "oh, just come back on such and such day and maybe you can get another freebie." Look, I just dropped $100 here today, I'm not coming back in 2 days, coming here takes time and I have a job.On top of that, they have issues with keeping their online presence updated accurately. For example, it is April and they still have a message about something that happened in December on the front page of their website & the flower selection on their website says it was last updated in February.This might seem like a harsh review, but I've been increasingly frustrated with my experiences here. I feel like many of these problems are examples of eroding customer trust, which is not a good way to conduct yourself in such a business. A good business practice to inspire trust is to under promise and over deliver, not over promise and under deliver. With their behavior, I half expect to see giant signs in the waiting area announcing free 8ths every day with small print saying "1 free 8th given away a day to a patient chosen at random." Your patrons need to trust you, not feel like you're constantly on the edge of being technically in the clear, but obviously deceptive in intent or insensitive to needs. I feel bad because there are a couple staff members here that I have no problems working with here (shout out to Tricia!), but between all of the bad staff members and the deceptive practices I can no longer support this location and I cannot recommend it to anyone. I have been passing by many other locations on the way here for years and the traffic in this area is terrible and the environment is incredibly pedestrian/cyclist unfriendly despite the fact this location is fairly close to the Metro Red Line. I think it's time I explore my options and stop giving this location my business by default.

These guys are super friendly, very polite and the marijuana is pretty darn tuttin' so far. Even the security guard was very friendly. I stopped in for the first time, handed over my  driver's license and medical certificate (which you don't need for recreational), waited one minute for him to enter my information in the system, the door unlocked and there I was, in the back looking at all the goodies.The budtenders were both super nice and ready to help. The prices were very pretty damn good too. They don't have many vegan edibles yet, but hopefully they'll change that. And they don't have many edibles where you can just stick only to Sativa or Indica. They're mostly l blends, perhaps they'll move on to finding good edibles in a certain strain. I personally would love to find a place that preps Cannaoil (THC infused coconut oil) so my lazy ass doesn't always have to make it at home... plus it's pretty time consuming and getting a dosage right is freaking difficult. (I'm always too light.)They only thing still crazy about here in L.A., if you go to marijuana stores up north and on into western Canada... man, those guys can really run cool little stores that are just open to the public and they stay super busy (perhaps because of laws? I don't know). I also hope this place is just 100% legit and doing things the right way to stick around, because it's super convenient and the 'tenders are really cool. But, I'll stick with 4 stars for now since I'm not like, "HOLY SHIT this place is... well... THE SHIT!". It's just really, really good. Thanks for opening this store and best of luck.

I've been going here for 4+ years, and while all the people I've like have gone on and been replaced, overall I think they do a great job of keeping this place staffed with good people who know what they are talking about.

I came here when I was on vacation looking for an apartment before I made the move to LA. Everyone was so awesome, nice and helpful. I've never had such a fun time at a dispensary and felt so welcomed. We found our apartment downtown LA and moved shortly. Every time we need a re fill, we always and only come here. Every time without fail the guys are just so nice and happy to see is. They remember us, remember our story, ask how we are doing, and then sell us their favorite items. I'm in love really. The dealers we always wanted.Go here 100%. They make you feel like family and I love it. Plus they have some real fire product. The gummies and chronic are just superior in my opinion.

Apparently they like to gaslight their customers in their response to negative reviews as well as being a shitty dispensary lol miss me with the "we can only take cash" byyyyeeeee I use my card in SF everyday y'all are just cheap. Having both options for your customers seems like better business don't you think? And maybe some lights outside of your business so people can see the signs. Having a pitch black entry makes zero sense and seems extremely dangerous especially with it getting darker. Next time you want respond by being an ass don't. Apologize for being shitty and just do better.

I've been to just about every dispensary in the L.A. region and this by far is the best hands down. Been a customer since they opened years ago. The people they hire have always been the friendliest and most knowledgeable. The only change is the layout of the operation which is set up for the best experience possible. Well lit and clean with friendly staff. I won't go anywhere else. I've tried the rest and my loyalty stands with what I consider the best. Universal Collective is the one for the serious and novice smoker. They will guide you to the kind of smoke that you want. They will get you exactly the kind of smoke to get you feeling right. Great varieties to choose from in all forms from liquid to leaf. No need to search any longer. This is the place.

Some rock solid sour diesel. Drove 30 minutes to get some high quality green from a high quality dispensary. Went to one down the street another time and the green wasn’t nearly as good. Great customer experience there as well, always treated great.
