They used to have good service but now they don't. They used to have a wide section. Now they don't. They don't social distance, the store was shoulder to shoulder today and they wear fake masks, and no gloves. On top of that, they are more expensive than other stores in the area. Then they replied to my review by calling me a liar. All around a bad experience.

Tons of cannabis drying out on the shelves and in the back but not person could find what I needed, and I know what I want. The problem is the staff doesn't! One person disappeared in the back for ten minutes when my request was direct and specific, another person literally stopped looking for a high THC content preroll because it was too hard to sift through all the available options and she obviously did not have a pot education . I would say their best customer is a first timer  they can just sell anything to and tell them how good it is.  At least they can work the cash register and make change

I have shopped at the Reef since they opened, and I have received nothing short of stellar service. From the guards to the bud tenders to the manager- all have shown me kindness. I do wish they'd reinstate a higher discount for online orders, but I like their philanthropy. Mad props to my bud tender today- I think her name was Megan! She's the one who got me to leave a review here- phenomenal customer service skills! I see a lot of feedback about the door staff on here, and let me specifically address the fact that the two gentlemen I see at the door at the Reef (while not the smiliest men) have always been kind to my femme queer self. I have never felt like they were rude, but merely doing their jobs and not getting distracted. Get over yourselves people! You're buying legal recreational cannabis - chill out.

This place was neat.  There's a counter for prerolled joints and a counter for edibles and flower.  The people were helpful and nice.  You will need to have your ID to get in and it is cash only.  The ATM is free if you forgot which is awesome.  All around great experience and the outside is super cute too!

Such friendly, fun & helpful staff! The energy is so bright & positive in there & I will be returning for sure!

I always have good experiences at this store! My dog loves to come with me, too. It's hit or miss at the other dispensaries I have been to in Seattle, so this is my go-to spot.

The salespeople here are ridic in my opinion. Every single time I go here they tell me the same descriptive "it's a really mellow high, cerebral", blah blah. I find it so corny and they are not fooling anyone. Weed is weed. I make sure I don't tip at this place. Bouncer is soooooooo rude. Always has a mean mug on his face and nobody treats you like a person. You are just a sale.

I am writing this review because of my experience coming from the store tonight around 8:00 p.m. I went to take out $80 from the cash machine but soon after walking away realise I forgotten to grab the money. I then brought it up to one of the people working in asked if they could check the cameras to see if the person who picked up my money could be identified, this took a couple minutes. By the time they realised to the person was they had already left the store.  I want to thank the security guard the lady who was taking out cash after me and the manager who helped me Shaina.(I think that was her name, its in my receipt. Brown straight hair, thin frame, really kind) They checked the cameras and even identified a rewards phone number of the person who stole the money from the ATM but this person must have used someone else is rewards because it didn't match who they were. Shaina maintain professionalism and showed empathy towards my situation during the entire time, She even offered me a generous discount. I just wanted to thank all the members of the reef store for how they handled my situation tonight. It's how you guys treat your customers that make me come back each time.  They offer great selection, great prices, and their employees really are the best. I will choose the reef over Uncle Ike store any day.Thank you for doing everything you could!(And to the person who pocketed my cash, your character is weak, and you will get what's coming to you)

Wow great experience! It was my friend's first time at a dispensary and Christian P was so helpful with providing context. I will be back! I was looking for a black owned company to support and even though The Reef did not have any brands, Christian helped me find a socially conscious Women/ Indigenous brand.

Had an awesome time visit from San Diego, CA! Wes was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations, all while holding an upbeat conversation. There are definitely a myriad for products to choose from, and the attendants were all very helpful in helping me navigate this experience. Looking forward to coming back every few months! Terrible customer service. My friend went in to purchase a gram and got the wrong amount. He barely stepped outside when he noticed it. With the receipt in hand he tried to get what he paid for instead of the .5 he received, but the manager, MARCUS, just said "You already went out the store so that's your problem." What kind of excuse is that? I would advice anyone to go elsewhere. You'll only get robbed of your money and time.

Meh. Huge real estate. Very little inventory for edibles. Plus, you have to look at it through these artsy window displays and there's no sense of what's actually available. Not sure the market they're going for, but the prices are higher than typical and the edible selection is severely lacking. All they had we're different kinds of fruit chews. C'mon. There's lots of great edibles out there besides fruit chews. I don't want to give Ike more money; he's a trash human. But I'm really struggling to find a shop with a decent edibles selection. Had high hopes for this place because of the size of the store, but walked out really disappointed.

This place is unfortunately staffed. First purchase was a gift my boyfriend got me - they sold him a PAX Era with a bunch of ugly engraving on it and didn't tell him. It was cheap but they didn't explain that it was engraved and it was really disappointing. Second purchase was worse. I asked specifically for cartridges for the same ugly PAX Era and they sold me the wrong kind, but they also won't make refunds even when it's their fault. I'm mostly annoyed because they make mistakes and then make it sound like it's illegal to refund you which is not true.

Okay coming from LA off the bat this is the shop I'm going forever, there's nothing about this place that would turn me away from coming here. And Pal was helping me and she's absolutely precious and recommended the best stuff. If you're not from seattle and you want bud come here period. It's more than weed it's a whole experience alone just seeing the place and walking in. The also handle covid and the protests EXTREMELY WELL. You'll be disappointed if you're in seattle and don't come here. If Pal is reading this you're the best and I love you!!!!

I was really impressed with this place. It was almost overwhelming because they offer so many products, and I'm visiting from California, so I didn't know quite where to start. Maegan (I think I'm spelling that correctly from the receipt) was AMAZING- very knowledgeable, professional, and sweet all at the same time. She made it a point to help me find exactly what I was needing, answered all my questions, and provided recommendations that I'm so glad I got. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

BUYER BEWARE: Your ID must be scanned for their database before you are allowed to enter. While I condone inspecting my license for age and conformance to the spirit of the law, I object to my details being captured digitally. The staff were kind and apologetic, claiming no bad would come from it but I politely disagree.  Won't be back

As a native to Northern California nearly 30 years: I've been very fortunate enough to have a wide variety of options and a network that I trusted when getting marijuana and accessories.After moving here I was really disappointed by the customer service I received from competing shops. I really hate feeling rushed or spoken down to. There's a whole new array of Washington strains and products I've never seen in California! That shouldn't have however had the conclusion drawn that I'm uneducated and misinformed.At Reef I had a completely different experience! Everyone was so friendly, kind helpful and informed. I didn't feel rushed or overly pestered as I like to just look around on my own sometimes. I always feel very well taken care of and leaving like I got the best bang for my buck.Great team here!

I buy a decent amount of products here each week.  It's always been great......until I bought several bottles of Digestify for an extended trip.  One of the bottles had been opened and 3/4 of the contents were missing.  Whaaattt???  Also one of the cartridges didn't work.  Unfortunately I was out of town when I discovered this, so was unable to take them back to the store.

Ok let's talk shops . The Reef is now the place to shop for Flower in Downtown Seattle . Not only is the flour fresh , the unit is super clean, staff is smart not Rude willing to help . I have to Accredit a lot of this to a manager there by the name of Sam I've had a few chances or opportunities to shop with him . I have had The opportunity to shop with this young man. Not only is he a professional , he runs a crew with Fashon . I believe I met this gentleman the first time at another shop which we will not name as they are not worthy of it . Sam has acquired the people that he worked with at that other shop , to bring them to the Reef on Capital hill.  I now would like to recognize them  for superb customer service , a leader in the industry of hospitality sales. I'm gonna say it is a true delight and I thank you.

This store has great employees, but the management is straight garbage. God forbid something goes wrong with your transaction like wrong product in package they will do absolutely nothing for you and will laugh in your face, Was not expecting a refund but at least a feedback report to the manufacturers of the product or a discount on another product would of suffice. Literally walked out the store drove home because I was coming from work but i live not even a mile from the store and was there quite frequently, got to know some of the employees and now that means nothing as I won't be going back to this place and would recommend you don't either

I go back and forth for the reef. Prices vary however the staff is just unbeatable. It's a good place to buy good weed.

AVOID!Guys checking ids, two separate guys each were shitty. The guy-guy shit gets old quick!Way friendlier, helpful, staff up on 15th and taking my business there!Please avoid until they figure out their customer service issues

Been here multiple times, always a super nice staff and great at answering questions.  Have not had any issue with there products like some reviewers

3 out of the 4 times I've been here was treated rudely. And by rude I mean the interactions with Reef staff who clearly have no clue about wtf they are talking about or even selling. I ask about a specific product they respond "we don't have that..." then I point it out ...staff responds..."oh ya there it is." I get it customer service is hard but don't bring your non sense to work, grow up. I think Reef has a great pre-roll selection but when I interact with staff who seem so disinterested the whole vibe goes out the window. In short left Reef do not think I'll be back.

The best dispensary on the hill!  Wonderful and professional staff across the board.  I especially love Mambo, the most kick ass Budtender.  I tell him my priorities and without fail he picks out the most fire strain every time, keeping quality and budget in mind.

Highly recommend. Order online for 15% off, shuffle down the street two blocks and have a bag full of great product waiting for me? Yeah... I've been in at least half a dozen times this month, and have always received excellent customer service. I used to work as a budtender (medical) and this is a totally different experience; things are prepackaged, there are no in-house concentrates and you can't smell anything, but that's just a standard recreational thing. What they offer is a great collection of very beautiful and pricey flower, some nice budget-friendly options and a lot of great selections in between. If you're looking for high CBD strains, they have several really good ones and the recommendations are usually spot-on. A great addition to the neighborhood (though I can't help missing the neon pizza sign...) and a regular stop on my errand route.

The staff has never failed at being friendly and helpful. You can reserve your order through their website and they give you a discount for doing so, as well as if you review their products.

I was happy to see a shop open up nearer to me than the others. After a couple dozen visits, I'm even happier. hehe. The staff is as professional as it gets. Especially amid this pandemic, they are very responsible and serious about what they do. I'd recommend this location to anyone. Ordering online is easy too. I hope someone there reads this and knows they're doing a great job.

Wow ! I didn't realize how close this was to my home. I was driving blocks away until I decided to walk to the reef. I have driven past it so many times and there's never any parking finally I decided to walk from home. The guy checked my ID was nice and friendly. It didn't take long for someone to ask me if I needed any help finding a product. The guy was quick, knowledgeable, and friendly. I can't remember the name tall with blonde hair I think. They have a atm so I got cash out. The place was very organized, spacious, and clean. They have a very nice selection of products. I got a cartridge, editable, and a pre rolled joint.  I wish they had parking but they have a great store front ! I like how they had a choose of charity to donate money too I did life long. They have a reward program you can put your phone number in and you can order online and pick up in the store.  Pretty amazing I will be back for sure ! Keep up the good work !

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - Their pax pods are always empty. I have had FOUR pax pods with either NOTHING in them, or they have been half full. Why I still went in after 4 times... it's the closest dispensary to my house. The fourth time I went in, the manager (with the green hair and eyebrows... Jared I think) refused to give me a refund... HE EVEN SUGGESTED THAT I SMOKED IT MYSELF BEFORE RETURNING IT, AND THEN SAID THE PODS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO ALWAYS BE FULL. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? People have discouraged me from going because they have experienced empty pax pods from here as well. Now, I'm for sure never going back. Absolutely disgusting, how I was talked to.The cartridge was, and still is, 30% full. Never once touched human lips. Tell me that's okay to sell.

If there was a way I could give zero stars I would. I tried to come in here today with my boyfriend. We showed our IDs, but the guy did not let me in. I showed him my US MILITARY ID, and he denied me access. How is that even fair? It's a valid ID that shows my DOB, and is a photo ID. There needs to be a clear and visual policy indicating what's not a valid form of ID. Yet I want to make it clear I came in with a valid government military Identification and was not explained why it wasn't acceptable. This place needs to have a real security system and staff in place, with the technology to scan ID's so that this doesn't happen to anyone in the service or just anyone with a valid ID that is just being denied by incompetent Staff member!

Great experience and highly recommended! The bud tenders are well informed on the products they offer. I'm at the reef every 2 days and it's by best the best cannabis in Seattle. But lately last couple month I go in, I have a run in with employee Jesse and he's not representing the store as everyone else. His energy is off, doesn't really show or give enthusiasm. He just comes off like he does not really want to him me. I refuse to go to him each time now. I love the reef but definitely not feeling him and he's not a good look on business considering the fact he's always there !

Love coming here! It's one of my go tos downtown! They usually have some fun deals going on too. I stopped by a couple days ago and noticed how clean everything was when I went in! With everything going on I love knowing they're keeping things clean, and the employees seem to be doing their duty of social distancing and keeping things clean and safe! Highly recommend this spot.

Excellent selection and fair prices. This is a safe, clean, well designed shop with FREE ATM's. They have an entire counter dedicated to pre-rolls.

Only dude there who sucks is the pastel-dreaded white guy. His attitude is crap and he's never quite helpful. Which is sad because I think he's a manager?

The outer shell is so pretty and painted , the staff is friendly and educated on the subject matter. I got the sinner preroll pack and an 8 th of some fire. Be prepared for taxes in Washington. I would for sure return for the flower and The sexy security guard with the grill YUMMY.

I had a cartridge that was busted that I got from them, it literally busted on the last possible day it could have before I wouldn't have been able to return it.I was thinking they would be suspicious of me because of the timing a 'oh how convenient' type of tone of something.They were actually quite the opposite, very accomodating!they no longer had any more of the cart i had, and only had more expensive options available. They were nice enough to replace my busted cart with a nicer, more expensive and higher thc content. Obviously you can't always expect this and I was in a unique situation, but it was refreshing for a business to actually care.

Just alright to be honest. The guy who checked our IDs at the front was sort of rude and insisted that we show our passports as well because he thought New Mexico wasn't apart of the United States. It was really awkward having to explain to him that New Mexico is in fact a state in the US... finally another worker convinced him. I was mainly looking for CBD but they didn't have anything with just CBD alone.

Gave the id checker my global entry card which is a government issued photo id and he said he had to check if we take  that as an id. brings another guy who says no and to look at Washington alcohol Id to see what are valid. Bring up the Washington government list of valid ids to buy marijuana and alcohol and there it is. I show the bouncer then he says o the owners don't want us to take it... so you can discriminate against IDs?  I'm 32 I don't look close to 21.  won't be back and spent my money on delivery.

Horrible!! Right when I arrived the 1st person to greet me was Extremely rude. He was the doorman. He didn't even look up at me at all & simply said "take it out" meaning my I.D.  No "Hi, how's your day or anything. Needless to say I haven't been back nor will I. Horrible if you want customers.

While the staff is generally knowledgeable and kind, I specifically want to mention that Matt is an excellent budtender: friendly, skilled at interpreting my (sometimes convoluted) requests, and always brings perfect recommendations. Maybe it's because I've been coming here for a long time but Matt somehow always know exactly what I'm going to like. I really appreciate how the Reef consistently stocks multiple options for strains with less commonly advertised cannibinoids, in a wide variety of potencies. I do agree that the displays could be more functional so that it was easier to see the details on the packaging, but I almost never need to use them anyways since the recommendations are on point.

I come to the reef all the time and never have issues but today the lady with multiple face piercings was very rude and had a nasty attitude I will no longer be going to her for services.

This well lit, very clean shop is super centrally located.  Definitely a good walk by store! Their joint wall is my favorite place to swing by.  Theyve got decent flower, a few edible choices, but some dope prerolls and lots of cool stuff dipped in kief and whatever :) always super friendly and helpful. Dope music too!

Yo I like good weed and they sell  great weed so there isn't much to say besides that. Also customer service and knowledge of their product is pretty on point however, there have been a few non motivated individuals that didn't give me the most pleasant visit (gave me hurry the f*ck up and leave vibes) what's the damn rush we all just tryna get high!

They don't give customers the right change. They only have quarters, no other small change so be prepared to be stolen from when making your purchases.

I love The Reef!!!!!! I always had a great experience in cannabis shopping. The staff members are amazing, there is one staff member in particular there named Jessie. He is willing to help out, very patient, knows his cannabis well, and gives amazing recommendations on which strains and brands to try. I have never had a problem with their customer service. I always have an enjoyable experience there and they give amazing discounts.

First time in Seattle, we AirBnB'd in the neighborhood and I wandered out looking to make the most of 4/20. The sound of reggae grew in the distance and I passed at least 3 happy pedestrians with bags from The Reef, so I knew I was on the right path. Finally walking up on the place, I was flabberghasted. I'm used to finding shops in the socal desert hidden down two alleys, take a right at the dumpster, pound on an unmarked screen door and wait for the buzzer. The Reef is like the Crate & Barrel of shops. Massive, prominent, towering over a busy Seattle intersection and blasting jams. Glass walls all around, state of the art shelves, digital kiosks from Bladerunner, ample staff, and someone had a dog. Maybe thats just how they do it in Seattle, but as a desert rube I was blown away. The weed was pretty good too.

Josh is super knowledgeable every time I come in he takes his time to discover my mood and suggest a great pairing. I love this spot highly recommended.

Outstanding options, service, and price.  At Have A Heart, I was taxed almost 30%.  Here, I was given a 10% discount for being a Medical patient from another state.  Thanks, again for everything.  Can't wait to go back.  Orangeade and Grape Bubba were off the hook.

Just tried to enter with my expired license and temporary document (from the DOL), as I'm waiting for my new license to arrive in the mail.  I was refused entry at the door even though the expired punched license with the temporary document is LEGALLY valid.Not cool. Won't be coming here again.

I've been coming here once or twice a week since they opened, but yesterday I was denied entry. The security guard refused to let me in because my ID is "expired," even though I also had a temporary license from the DOL, complete with a bar code for them to scan. He refused to even look at it. He informed he is the "head of security" (probably a lie) and implied that I was trying to start trouble by entering the store and giving them money. After being a loyal customer since they opened, I was made to feel like a criminal and felt threatened by their employees. This is a retail store, not a nightclub.I called the store and they apologized, but who cares? Unless these security employees are fired, it means nothing. I am not going to patronize a business that threatens me for merely walking to their door. The security employees need to be fired and replaced immediately. That is the only appropriate response. Looking over other recent reviews, they've obviously been having problems with their security people for months and it clearly hasn't been solved.I had no problem at another marijuana store nearby, which gladly accepted my legal ID issued by the state of Washington. They also have better prices and a much better selection. My advice? Don't waste any money at the Reef and take the extra five minutes to make your way up to 15th Ave.

This place was super nice and everyone was friendly (including security). I am not local to the area, but just by visiting this establishment makes me wish I was! In the middle of a beautiful town with lots of cool places to eat in walking distance

Hands down one of the best pot shops in Seattle. I've been living and working in Capitol Hill for many years and The Reef is such a nice new addition to the neighborhood on the East Olive way Strip. The staff has only been great with customer service and price of products is on point. I have been going to them since they opened over the summer and have only had fantastic experiences going there. I highly recommend checking out this place even if you aren't much of a cannabis user. They have plenty of CBD products and products low in THC.

I've gone to this shop quite a few times. I can't see myself going back and they are two blocks from where I live. They have bad customer service and it's kind of a pain just walking in the door. So I have to take out my ID show which I get, but then I'm told I have to leave my umbrella and chai at the door. It's a small thing but when You need to do three things just to walk in it soured my mood bit. In all honesty their selection isn't the best either and I have to recommend the shops a little farther up the hill they have a way bigger selection as well better quality brands. The only area the reef may have a bigger selection is joints. The way this shop is laid out also makes it less convenient because all the stuff is in back, away from their counter so it's not as quick for them to grab something for you to look at. Even if its closer the stuff there are places near by that carry better quality brand that it's worth the distance. For instants if you like cartridges like me, the lines they carry are a big drop off from others I've gotten near by. They are late to the game and most of the really good brands already have deals with established shops. Also keep in mind they don't sell any pipes or other gear.Oh and and if you are driving the reef has zero parking. If you do find yourself unhappy with your service I'd avoid dealing with their management, their GM is pretty condescending.

The Reef has greatly improved their reliability on your online order being correct and in stock. 20% discount for food service workers when online ordering is awesome! Friendly budtenders.

I've been coming to the reef for 4 years now and it is hands down my favorite place for weed. They have the best weed and the best staff. They are always super knowledgeable about what you are buying and they take the time to find what you like!!!

I was on my way to check out The Reef. I noticed a person who I assumed was an unhoused selling incense around the corner from their door. The security guard told him he had to leave. There were some back and forth about whose property it was. The man went to the corner of the intersection and the security guard walked around the block. When the security guard came to where the person was they called them a, "f-ing bum" and smacked the container that held the incense out of the mans hand. I don't know all the history here obviously, but at no point did I see any reason for this type of aggression and violence against an unhoused person. If your employees are treating people this way, then I have no interest in your shop, this is an unkind way to treat people with verbal and physical harassment.I'm not asking for a boycott of The Reef. But if an employee feels so frustrated that they feel like they can use stigmatizing language and violence towards someone, then I think compassion, stress management, and deescalation trainings would be useful.

I went with my friend tonight who has a non-driver identification card for the state of Washington. After looking at her ID outside, the doorman goes inside to look at her card under stronger light and pulls out a magnification glass. He comes outside and tells us that he cannot accept her ID and threatens to take it from her, stating, "it's policy to take an ID that I believe may be fake". My friend does not drive and has a chronic illness (not that he is entitled to know). She has never been denied access to a dispensary or a bar ever for her ID. This employee's actions demonstrate ableist ideology and extend into his ability to be able to judge the reliability of ID cards. There are many reasons why someone would have a non-driver identification card (i.e disability status) and denying access to my friend suggests that he will in the future continue to deny admittance to people with non-driver IDs which is ableist and does not embody inclusive beliefs.

This place has a pretty decent array of edibles and good stock on everything else aside from pieces.  The people who work there are always super nice and they seem pretty helpful (I always order ahead online so i wouldn't really know). You get a 10% discount from ordering online and they're cash only but they do have ATM

My husband and I went for the first time, door person asked for IDs.  I have a drivers license, my husband doesn't drive and has a state ID card.  I was let in no problem, door person accused husband of having fake ID and door person threatened to take it.  ID is 100% valid and not expired.  The door person was extremely rude and accusatory, have never experienced anything like it.

Too pricy and the often selected brands on sale aren't worth the up charge. You're better off buying top shelf from Ruckus Recreational on their Top Shelf Tuesday 20% sale. Plus, they have cheaper weed that's not up charged too.

The Reef is honestly one of my favorite dispensaries in the Seattle area. They have great discounts and a good selection of quality & budget cannabis! They're management and staff are super friendly and helpful; as well as remember me. The dispensary is one of the few dispensaries in the Seattle area that actually cares about the well-being of not only their employees, but their customers. During the 2020 quarantine, The Reef started giving discounts to restaurant workers and others effected by COVID. What I love the most is that the store literally puts their money where their mouth is. They closed the stores on several occasions so their staff could participate in the protests last summer, as well  as every time multiple staff members got sick with covid! Any business willing to loose money to do what's right  will always get my coin. If you're looking for a great dispensary to visit on your trip to Seattle or maybe just looking for a new dispensary home, check out The Reef!

The person helping me was incredibly helpful, I told her what I was looking for and my budget and she pointed me in the right direction. The milk chocolate chocolate edibles were very strong! Also this weed shop donates 5% of the profit back to charity, they had three to choose from and you get to decide which, which is awesome and makes me want to go back.

The place looked really nice. The prerolls we got from their hit pretty nicely, only downside is that it had a line that took over 45 minutes.

The best store on the Hill or anywhere near the city center. Great selection and an extremely knowledgeable team. Huge Heylo selection.

Ridiculously clean with a pleasant staff

Great staff, knowledgeable in selection available, I can't stop going back! Edit: Now that I have a dog named Mac (y'all can snicker, I do when I'm smoking the MAC strain), they are totally accommodating, even give him treats when not super busy. He really appreciates the water dish by the door and gets excited when I say we're going to the Reef. I recommend this place to everyone I know who lives or drives through Seattle. The staff really works with you to help understand the updated LCB rules if you make large purchases And a huge shout out to Liz and their pop culture references, always makes me laugh when they through them out there!
