I visited on 12/27 as a walk in with no plan to make a purchase, just wanted to check it out.The staff was very friendly, relatable, and most importantly, they understood the products they were selling very well. I will come back simply because the staff was so well trained and great to talk to.Also, the waiting room was also well designed. The entire space was clean, quiet, and very stylish. I really dug the chalkboard menu.The reason I'm detracting a star is that their menu just lists the strains they sell, letting patients know the grower only if asked. I assume this is to forge a relationship/dialogue between the dispensary and the patient (and hey, it worked!). However, with wide quality disparities between the different grow operations in PA (and anywhere for that matter), the grower information is very important. Whatsmore is that at the onset of a new market, many consumers aren't educated about grows or where their cannabis comes from, which is, for all intents and purposes, more important than the dispensary you buy it from. Any patient should know what the grow where their medicine comes from is like. I would have appreciated a little more upfront transparency on that part so the cannabis consultant/bud tender didn't have to tell me who grew each and every strain I was curious about, and I could have made a quicker transaction.And actually, they were mostly sold out of the strains made by the two grows I trust so I didn't make a purchase. However, the staff was perfect, so I can't wait to come back and shop for the strains from my fave grows from these excellent people again! Also, winner of the best lookin' dispensary in Philly. Staff is very friendly and their menus are up to date. They also give you a free battery when you buy your first cartridge from them!
Wanted to give this place another go so I called in and asked if they had any flower as it was not listed in their menu. I was told they did have flower but they only sell in-house flower and the employee on the phone could not be specific about strain, just that they had sativa right then; so I stopped in. Waited for an attendant at the window and filled out my information while waiting in a second airy seating area that is actually inside the facility -- this is distinct to the seating area located inside the front door where you can sit to wait for an attendant at the window before you are allowed to sit in the secondary waiting area. Kind of silly if you ask me but is nice in the winter because you don't get a draft coming in. Picked out what I wanted the first time- which wasn't actually in stock even though their computer said it was- so I picked again and got the last of the stain. I was informed that since they only sell in-house flower (Grassroots™) and since they have an order online function, the flower always goes super quick. They have a limit of 2g/stain or one 1/8 of a single strain for flower per customer. I paid $50 for an 1/8th and $17 for a gram; super reasonable compared to some other prices I've paid. Wanted to be able to give a higher rating for getting a new client bonus or because they had a supposedly great loyalty program but both these things totally fell through. No first time discount. Loyalty Program: every $20 spent = 1 point earned; 1 point earned = $1 redeemable in store. If you're not looking to do the math, you have to spend $300 before you're able to redeem a single $15 gram for free. I'll let you decide whether or not that is worth the loyalty.
The first dispensary within walking gets 5 stars by default but easilly deserving of 5 stars anyway. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, comfortable vibe, good selection.
I was recommended to Herbology because of their recurring patient signups, which is a great service. But they themselves seem to have no idea when these events actually occur. I was told one date and time via email, which matched what's posted on their website. But when I called day of to confirm, I was told that no such event was scheduled that day, but they'd be having one a few days later (which was not advertised anywhere.)So advertised events aren't really happening, actual alleged events are not even advertised, and the staff themselves are confused as to what's going on.I want to like this place, but at this point it's probably easier to go elsewhere than deal with this carousel of uncertainty. Your experience may be different, but just be very careful when making schedule arrangements with them.
Normally easy to park, friendly and knowledgeable staff, weekly sales and specials, and NO long wait times. In and out in less than 10 minutes.
Today I visited Curaleaf and Shawdon waited on me. He was great. He was fun to talk to and knew what Discounts I was eligible for. Fun experience today .

I want to be very clear that this review is entirely based on my experience with Ellen, one of the managers at Herbology on Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia. At my last visit to the dispensary, I was told upon arrival that they were helping patients place their orders via ipad in the waiting area & then calling them back to complete their purchase, to avoid wait & manage social distancing for COVID. The employee showed me their flower selection via tablet, I told them what I was looking for in strength & terp profile, & we selected a flower strain based on the information on the tablet re: the THC level & terpene profile -- despite it being a grower I'd not purchased from before, & it being one of the highest price-point flowers on the menu. I was then called to the back, paid for my purchase (& was told that customers are not permitted to touch anything prior to purchase), & left the dispensary. Upon arriving home & examining the label on the flower, I saw that the information on the label did not match the information on the tablet. The THC level was off by nearly 4%, the terp levels were significantly lower than advertised. I then called the dispensary & explained what had happened, & was transferred to Ellen, one of the managers. Ellen told me that the information on the website was controlled "by corporate" & they had no power to change it. I said that I understood this, but that no one told me that when they were using the website information to direct my purchase. Ellen then said it was my fault for not checking the label before I purchased the flower. I reminded Ellen that this wasn't possible, since I'd been told that customers are currently not allowed to touch products due to COVID precautions. I told Ellen that I rely on the information provided to select the strains to manage my chronic illness (& that medical marijuana is just that: medicine), & that I would not have made the purchase had the information been accurate, & asked how to prevent this from happening again. Ellen then raised her voice & began yelling at me that she had done nothing wrong, & that she could tell I am a "detail-oriented person" but that there was "nothing in it that's going to hurt you" & "no one forced you to buy it." & then she hung up on me. I was & am well aware that an exchange or return would not be possible, given that the purchase was medicine, & communicated this -- my question was: how did this happen, & how can I keep it from ever happening again. I expected something along the lines of: "Hey, we're sorry that happened -- the website information isn't always updated, & we'll be careful to remind folks to double-check before completing their purchase so we can catch discrepancies. We're adding 5 loyalty points to your account for the inconvenience." Instead, I was yelled at, told it was my fault, & then hung up on. By Ellen.I have been a patient-client at Herbology on Passyunk since they opened their doors, & found this interaction stunning. No one else I've ever worked with there would suggest that I treat my medicine so cavalierly. No one else I've ever encountered there has been anything but helpful, conscientious, & responsible in their recommendations. Shout out to Ajay, Bill, Matt, & Mike especially for always being helpful & professional & friendly in my interactions with them there. Their customer service is impeccable.I have not heard back from anyone at Herbology or Curaleaf HQ, so I have gone to the dispensary, cashed out the 37 loyalty points on my account, & will not be returning after my encounter with Ellen. Ethos Dispensary has better product, a wider selection, longer hours, & a superior online ordering system that allows you to pre-order even when the dispensary is closed. The only reason I've been frequenting Herbology on Passyunk is because the team members mentioned above are such lovely humans.The only reason I will not be returning is the way that I was treated by Ellen.
Very decent dispensary. Nice variety. Some good sales My first time there walking in was awkward and the ragged doctors office feel, upon walking in didn't make it any better. I was happy that I placed my order in advance. Was about a 15 minute wait time to check out once I arrived. Everyone was congenial.

I have been a patient for a little over two months . This place is very legit and very clean. You show the person out front your ID and medical card. Than you are let into a tiny room, where they scan your ID. They have a lovely waiting room downstairs, I sat in during the 4/20 rush. Today my order was done by the awesome Frank. Frank showed me when i started coming here, the in and outs of their website. Today they rung me up with a kind face and asked if i had any questions. Very fast~ Gave me 10/10 service each and every time i interact with them~ This place is slowly becoming a very familiar spot to me and everyone who works here is amazing~
