Won't be back. I've visited Chai a handful of times in the 5 years I've been a patient. Each time I have received poor costumer service, and have even experienced blatant sexism from multiple male budtenders. I have purchased the same product at an increased value after watching females purchase said product at a massive discount. When inquiring as to why, the explanation was laughable. I have put those issues aside as they could easily be explained as poor budtender experience, however after today's verbal lashing myself and my company will never go back. I didn't even make it out of my vehicle before being accosted by some lady hanging her head out the window to yell at me about using my e cig. Look, I'm 30 years old if I want to quit smoking in my own vehicle you have ZERO authority over what I do. Furthermore, there is ZERO signage notifying the public the parking lot is no smoking. Beyond that lunacy, you share a parking lot with multiple other businesses there is no way you could know with absolute certainty that I would be coming to your establishment. Believe me I understand the issue, it could look like one is medicating. However, this is NOT how you run a business, or treat the general public. For all you know you could have just cost someone else a paycheck. All in all, mind your damn business until patients come into your establishment.

Chai is the best club in Santa Cruz hands down. I've never gotten bud here that I didn't like. I usually don't get the sale stuff but sometimes there is really good choices. The staff here is really nice, especially BJ. I LOVE CHAI!!!!!! If you want fire weed for good prices this is the best place to go.

The owner contacted me and addressed the situation. Mistakes happen. When visiting new dispenories all we can go on is the website for pricing. I might just give them another trythis is my third time coming to chia live out of town. This place is shaddy. 22 for korova cookies. Listed on weed maps for 17. They posted them at $17 2 days ago. I have bought them for 17 there before.  Terra bites listed as 25 on thier own website sold for 26. When confronted they say to bad. Would not honor any of the prices. Never at any dispensory have i paid $22 for korova including taxes. 18 dollars in castroville including taxes. Was told go to other dispensories.  Dont trust them. If they lie about pricing what else do they lie about will never go back.

Excellent quality of bud, even better quality staff. Knowledgable of their products, very reasonable prices. Monday-Thursday they have specials that suite everybody's needs. Such as, top shelf Tuesday, waxy Wednesday, tasty Thursday. And twice a month they do patient appreciation. They truly care more about their patients then their profit.Their customer service is impeccable, all the gentlemen in there are polite, make you feel comfortable, answer all your questions, and make sure you leave with a smile on your face. From the security, to the front desk, to the bud-tenders, it's an overall joy. Also, if you're medical, they cover 10% of your taxes. Thanks for keepin real when times are changing.

Chai is the place to go. I've been to all the other   shops and chai by far exells in customer service and price-value in my opinion. All the employees their are always friendly and helpful. Canna Cruz and kind people's have these ridiculous security personnel that guard the store and stand in front of a metal detector like your entering a top secret government establishment. I don't like that vibe when trying to spend alot of money to get something to help me relax. It's not a night club loaded with drunk people under a toxic substance. They don't charge  1.00 for an effin plastic like 'un' kind people's.  If they are busy they have a separate room to wait in so you can use your cellphone. Kind people's doesn't allow cellphone use what so ever once you enter.Chai has way more parking than Canna Cruz and kind people's Chris the owner is a super cool guy that's always their to help his customers.If you want the whole package please just go to chai and save the hassle of the b.s. competition.

I would like to change my review from 5 stars to like 2 or 3.... I always go in there usually on Saturday's and the people are awesome but recently I had asked for a full gram like I usually get (they pull up my order history) and they gave me a half gram and charged me. I should've double checked my bag when I left the store. Not a big deal because mistakes happen and at least they didn't charge me for something wrong, but I feel that I waste money when I buy half grams. And bottom line is that is not what I asked to order. So they told me that they would be able to offer me a discount next time and that the manager would call me when he gets in. They never called me back. So I called the next day and the receptionist asked me what happened but didn't inquire my information I had left yesterday, nor sounded like she cared no one called me back like I was told would happen. And when I had asked to speak to the manager she said there was nothing they could do since technically "nothing went wrong". I just felt it was rude of her to not check in with the people I had spoke with yesterday or at least made an effort to resolve it. The inconsistency was uncomfortable  and frustrating. It's not about the discount... I was just hoping that they would do the right thing. I love this place, but now this makes me want to look into other dispensaries. Super bummed.

This was one of the first spots I visited 4 years ago in SC and it instantly became a favorite of mine due to experience having gone to so many all over SD, OC and LA I can't even count! I enjoyed going often before it became legal. Now, times have changed and I just get a kick hearing friends' stories whom never had recs before and are now able to go without restriction. It's night and day coming from South Cali when your up near the bay area.There are so many awesome deals and the array of flowers to choose from here get me all the time! I've dealt with good and bad customer service in shops mostly around SD and when you go further north away from SD, the experience only gets better IMO.The folks at Capitola were super chill and friendly to say the least. They definitely have a decent collection of meds to help you get through your days and what I liked from my last visit was that they never rushed me to make my selections despite the rush of new and old patients walking in. An amazing dispensary, for the real stoner. The  flowers test highest, in the county. They have concentrates, that will blow your mind. Edibles, truffles, wow. Kaizen, Kind, all the best brands. Best part, the staff. They never let you leave, unhappy. You always feel like you have won something. So . I love the bud tenders, hard working, knowledgeable. Great pot club, for the knowing local, life time head. Love it.

This place used to be really good. Not they are shit. I payed 70 for an 1/8 of peanut butter mochi and it had powder mildew in it. They refused to let me exchange it. Worst weed worst experience. Might as well go buy mids off the block.

I was quite happy with this dispensary until my last visit. A twenty-something 'patient' there decided to threaten me. With his head inside their office, he turned around and asked if I wanted to 'get beat'. The staff was stunned, and I'm a disabled senior who had to defuse the situation myself by allowing him to take my place in line and apologising for whatever seemed to irk him. I think he was a little crazy, but I wrote down his Prius license number and sat in the lobby alone until he left with his weed. The staff walked me to my car when I finished, as I was shaken, but seemed in over their heads when it comes to security. I no longer feel safe at CHAI. A dispensary must realize threats to their senior customers is not cool, and a drug distributor might draw the young crazies.Update 2/17/18I received an official Yelp message from a Chris M., who identified himself as 'owner', who seemed to first think my review was 'funny', then wrote that I should take down my message, that he believed I was lying and this could have never happened. I understand that as a business grows and changes there will be an occasional poor review. I have also noticed security has improved. However, your response to my review was considered to be a pushy way to have me delete what you consider to be another negative post.Chris - when I was visiting CHAI for medicinal pot, there was little competition. Now that pot is legal, I will visit the competition, and will probably never return to 'your' shop, just so I don't have to deal with you again. You simply turned a sad situation worse.

I really enjoy this place it's small and mellow and everyone is helpful and friendly. Chai also has probably the best prices around the area. They have a decent selection for all the products I've never had a bad experience. Parking can be a problem when it's a busy time of day because it's just street parking with a few other business near so sometimes I gotta park at the bank down the street.

Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! The front desk is helpful and polite, walking you through the processes, the gentlemen are welcoming and assist you right away, and their prices are great! Wonderful service, wonderful experience, definitely coming back and bringing friends! :)

I have been a customer for years and today I brought back my first defective item.  They could have cared less that it was defective and totally disregarded the claim that if something is wrong they would fix it.  They would not accept the return so I will no longer go to this establishment as there are so many others that treat you like they really care.

I just tried to buy something off the shelf in this place, and the nice girl working went to ring me up, and was abruptly stopped by another guy working, who said the items I was trying to buy were on hold. I'm sorry, I picked the stuff out of open stock, and was ready to purchase it right there and then. How was it on hold of it was on the shelf for sale? Thanks Chai, but I won't be back.

Do not go anywhere else! This place is top notch with products and customer service. The personnel really take their time to give you exactly what you need. Plus, they have amazing deals throughout the week!

I usually go to Kind peoples and Herbal Cruz but wanted to try the 420 sale. The parking lot fills up quickly and street parking is hard to find. The line of people waiting went down fairly quickly. I was surprised how small the selection is. They don't carry the brands I have got elsewhere so I settled for what they did have. Normally one receives a free gram as a new customer but I may have been given a small discount instead. Overall I'll go back to my usual dispensaries.

Based on price compared to my other dispensary CHAI is 25% less and tax is included. They are off the main street, which was my primary concern regarding my personal safety. I liked how quickly they processed my prescription and offered me their services. Really impressed and holds up to all positive reviews. A+

For being a first timer with a medical card I can say CHAI was SUPER helpful and friendly. The staff made me feel welcome, and the shop was really clean. The Bud is amazing! Worth the drive from anywhere!

RACIST!!!   We went to CHAI today ...Don't get me wrong great quality of merchandise. However they are tried to ROB my husband by over charging my husband by $109.00 and still they insulted him saying to him ... that he didnt understand because he did not speak english. My husand paid $160.00 cash and another $60.00 on his credit card .. $220.00 total the employees and manager have some type of side business. Since they only gave him $110.00 worth of merchandise. What nerve of the employees and the supposed manager. The customer service SUCKS! They need major training. I HOPE THE OWNER SEES SO THAT THEY KNOW WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE WORK FOR THEM! Not only are they stealing from the customers that give them there job but they are also stealing from the company they work for CHAI.

I have been using c.h.a.i exclusively , every week , for 5 years . I always bought  the same thing each week . A 1/4 of top shelf indica and 2 grams of concentrate . I'd go on Tuesday and leave with a 1/4 for $68, and on waxy Wednesday's I'd get the 2 grams if concentrate for $60.Unfortunately for me my dr note expired on 12/29/17. I couldn't seem to find anyone who could tell me what to do as my previously written letters were done by an establishment who informed me that recommendations were now unavailable. Then I called same place again after a staff member said they'd seen new recommendations from this place . When I called again,  this time I was able to get another letter.I'm am just EXTREMELY CONFUSED I'm medical and on disability to boot . I used to receive a 10% discount for being disabled. I was told I cannot get it no more I guess after the 1st , no explanation just sorry.I've always loved you all, staff is friendly and I do not mind it's 99% dude bud tenders . I'm a girl so it's not an issue . Josh is awesome !, love him to death . I just can't pay the new prices . There's so many taxes it's just confusing . I'm 48 and have been paying 40 an eighth for 30 years !! I want to come back I just can't pay the higher prices . The little mom and pop club by my house is only charging sales tax to medical patients . They may find out they haven't been charging the other 19 taxes and things will most likely change soon. I want you to know that until this year and the recreational passing that I only came to you I love the way it was dispensed . I've spent thousands over the years . Always happy with product !!!! I've been a very happy customer . One thing I don't get is the base prices went up as well as the all the taxes . For instance , wax was 20/40 now a half g is 40?  I simply can't afford to go from $140 a week to almost double that . I wish there was a informational paper that breaks down all taxes . I want to come back . It's not your fault this law screwed up everything. I'm sorry , it was and always has been a dreaded day as all recreational has done is make people pay the government a bunch of tax money . I've known for years this would happen . I wish things were like they were for 5 years I was content with my medicine , stoked on Chai and it's prices . I am saddened-medical patients shouldn't have to pay a bunch of taxes to get medicine . It clearly speaks to me that the government looks at it like cigarettes , a way to make tax money . They have no compassion and lack education regarding the health benefits. It's medicine not nicotine !think if your medical , no taxes, I don't pay tax on my prescriptions from the doctor. I don't mind people wanted recreational but so far all it did is double what I was paying . Also some of the comments I've read on here have been bogus complaints. I've been there every week , sometimes 2x per week and some of the complaints were ridiculous. I really felt the need to put in some positive notes. Again I just wish it was like it used to be before the 1st of the year . Thankyou Capitol healing , I'll be back soon I'm sure .

After driving into the parking lot of Kind Peoples and being confronted by one of their wanna be cop security guards to move my car because i was over the line......i immediately walked back to my car and left. Kind Peoples inital impression.....ASSHOLES.  I then drive over to CHAI and am now a faithful customer. I was treated so nice. I was nervous because it was my first time in a dispensary. I was looking for a salve or topical for my rheumatoid arthritis pain and the gal that helped me was so knowledgable and patient with me.  I have been recommending CHAI endlessly

For me, this is the best dispensary in NorCal, and I've been to them all from Cookie Co. 415 to Harborside Oakland and even KindPeople's here in SC. I always look for two things: great bud (high) and great prices. I don't care about the cool sweaters or the trendy design of the shop. I just want to get my mind blown back and always for the low -- let's be real. I think most do. I prefer Chai because it's very barebones compared to other shops, but you can tell that that's because the focus is ALL on quality of bud (THC %, frosty, sticky, and dank) and keeping the prices down. It wins in these two arenas every time. And to top it all off, the sales tax is included in the price. Where else can you get an 8th of 31%-35% THC (they always have at least 3-4 strains over 30%, lab tested) for $45 out the door. Every other place is around $50-$60 for a top shelf 8th BEFORE TAX --that's $65-72 out the door with sales and MMJ tax. On Tuesdays, it's 20% off all top shelf. $36 for an 8th of 33% Super Sour Diesel grown by SCVA. Unbeatable.

Love the weed , love the atmosphere , people here are really kind , and the prices are competitive . Been going here for he last year and they never disappoint

Chais is the best cannaclub in the whole bay area. I like their buds better than even green door. Always fresh and soft and always the strains you want to smoke. Their wax is superb the edibles just everything. It sucks they dont have a place to hang out and smoke but as popular as it is I dont think anyone wants to take on the trouble of having to handle that. They dont bullshit the prices either. It all pretty much cost the same and if it doesnt its just cheaper than the standard 300 per oz. They could be charging 450 and Ive seen it and none of it is quality as chais on top of that they do 20% off everything once a month. its KILLER. I wonder alot where it all comes from and how its so consistent. I could only imagine. The staff has its days when they seem fed up but they are all really great guys and they all been there for over 2 years or close to it. Thats dedication as I believe they are volunteers of sorts. I cant show enough love to chais. Absolutely the best.

Place has always been best place for medical flowers Hands down. Only had small issue in past but the management and owner made it right.  That's good customer satisfaction. Nick was a gentleman and a scholar. Know what you like before you go in so your not lost in a sea of goodness. Pretty standard prices for a club, but tax being included and above average quality makes it totally worth it. I'll be back for sure. Definately worth checking out!

Even before the legalization here in California chai has been my go-to place for top shelf flower and concentrates.  They make everything is clean and tested and everything is always fresh.  Last week I went in to grab some wax that I saw on their menu online even though I had to show my new Rec the check in was super quick and I got to go back right away.  Dude helping me was really knowledgeable and told me about some new stuff that they got going on and I was overall pleased with the whole experience super-chill place.

I've been coming to this dispensary for the past 3 years as a medical patient. They have always had the best deals along with some of lowest prices for high quality products. Their team assists in educating their customers on what product would work best with their needs, and share their positive attitudes with every customer. I've always walked away from this place super happy with the customer service and extensive array of product choices.

I've been to many dispensaries in the area and Chai is the absolute best. Higher quality products than anywhere else, and customer service is always top notch. I love that they clearly post everything in stock on huge flatscreens, with prices and THC content. They include sales tax in the posted prices and their credit card machine is always working. No shady ATM fees or cash-only like some other shops.Go in on wednesday and you get incredible deals on concentrates.

best dispensary around, hands down. i actually look forward to coming in! the medicine is always on point, even the 10$ grams are 100x better then what you'll find down the st at California Growers Collective, ha! i love the fact that taxes are included in the prices, which are all reasonable. i absolutely love the people that work there, they are always very cheery and welcoming, and they always know their shit. sometimes i even just tell them to suprise me and they have never let me down. great location ( at least for me, sense i live down the st lol) great bud, great concentrates, great customer service...all around an amazing, professional business that provides compassionate care and fresh, top shelf medicine. i don't know what i am going to do without you guys when i move away in a couple of weeks :'(

After trying 3 other dispensaries in Santa Cruz, I found the staff here to be knowledgeable and helpful.  They answered  my questions and knew the CBD content.  At the other places they would say, here smell this.  Not very scientific.

Got my evaluation today and I just had to stop at C.H.A.I after all my friends recommended it to me. Must i say a very clean and fun atmasfir to be in. Felt very comfortable the whole time. Very good and fresh selection to choose from. Good deals. Great customer service. A must go to place. I was even Givin a free gram for being my first time

Took a long drive over to this place last weekend, and was not disappointed. The staff was super friendly, and the quality of the flowers I purchased was superb. The budtender weighed both of the quarters I bought like .8 grams over, as well as weighing my free first time patient gram to about 1.6 grams. I only paid $160 for a fat half ounce of top shelf, which for me is an absolute steal. Will definitely be coming back!

It's been said multiple times, C.H.A.I is the best club around. If you can make the drive, I highly suggest it. All employees are super helpful, especially Josh. Their Wax Wednesday and Thirsty Thursday deals are my favorite, and have me coming back every week. Love the vibes and artwork that C.H.A.I has. Plus they JUST changed their hours, now open late!

I've been a customer here for almost 3 years and I have to say, I'm always stoked. With Covid, it's a little different of course, so check out the online ordering and if something isn't in stock or you can't find it, call and ask. I went in after a few months of SIP and they were so helpful, as per usual. I am a deal seeker. I stockpile meds and get stuff on sale. I always choose to go on Saturday for 2 reasons: 1) it's my day off, yo!2) it's always gonna be (at least) 20% off flower and carts , which are my main gig these days. (Note-Once a month, Sat are cust appreciation days= 25% off the WHOLE EFFING STORE)Dad smokes joints like they're going outta style and I rock my vape pen when I'm not on the clock. On the off chance I need edibles, well, I can go on Sundays, because hey, it's gods day, and she LOVES weed.Every single bud tender is awesome. The receptionists are fan-tiddly-astic, and the security guard is a sweetheart.  It's on my way to work and it's 10 minutes away from the house. I got no reason to go anywhere else.

The Hispanic girl that is at the counter is very rude. We came here for the first time and made our time so difficult at checking in that I just decided to leave.

I've been coming here for over a year and it was really good at first, now I don't know what happened. Online orders aren't a priority anymore so you're gonna have to wait with everyone else even though your order is ready. Their discounts online are never right and it's frustrating to keep hearing a different price when going to pay. I love the staff here, I just think they need a better system... the quality of my visits have been going down and it sucks because this was my go to place.

I've been coming here since 2015 and as of late its really gone downhill, no more daily deals like top shelf Tuesday or waxy wensdays, all the helpful staff i used to know have all quit and moved on, and the last 3 times ive gone in i was not in the computer. Really sad, Chai was the best in town, but after 2018 and rec, its gone downhill slowly, sad to say i will no longer shop here, as the prices have gone up, and no more deals. R.I.P Chai

Pricing is ok, selection is decent. Make sure to check your order and costs, I was shorted 3 items on a delivery and the guy told me then he over charged me, I've called the SC SHOP and will update shortly on the fix for the overcharge

First time coming here since we're from Sacramento and lots of people had good things to say. We were super excited because of the FTP deal and the spend $50 get a 1cent premium preroll so we jumped at the idea. Once we got there we were pretty disappointed ,we got two carts from Big Chief one of which was leaking from the bottom and the other said fake when I scanned it at first and had trouble scanning for a bit till it said it was real. They also didn't want to give us a discount on our carts since 'they're already cheap carts' which was also the reason why they didn't want to give us our preroll either. The carts were exchanged luckily, but I don't think we will be returning. CannaCruz is definitely better and similar in price so I'd recommend going there instead

Don't be fooled by all the fancy new dispensaries around!! You can't judge a book by its cover when it comes to CHAI!! You WILL get the best bang for your buck here! Best quality flowers, best variety, best specials PERIOD! Thank you CHAI for helping me get thru a very difficult year! Couldn't have done it without your products and services. ***This review is from 10/29/21***I creating an online order first thing on Friday 10/29/21. There was a deal for $1 half gram Jetters so I added 5 to my cart, I also added a vape cartridge, & some edibles. I drive from Morgan Hill to Santa Cruz. I received a message stating that my order was ready for pick up. When I arrived they refused to fulfill my order.The floor lead handled it unprofessionally and gave major attitude and said basically "oh well"... I asked to speak to a manager, he told me that she was coming in shortly, so I decided to wait since I doesn't time, gas, and was charged $3 for the ATM.The manger over the phone was somewhat understanding, she did give me a $25 credit, she also let me know that the item was mid priced and was meant for a Halloween treat bag. I purchased some items and decided to return back on Halloween since the Jeeters that I wanted was going to be sold in the Halloween treat bag. I returned today to spend $200 and receive 2 Halloween treat bags. I was told that I was banned due to them not appreciating me ordering product that they mid priced. They cheated me out of $180 in points, embarrassing me by telling me to leave the store in front of several customers. This place is seriously a joke now that it is being ran by a new leadership team.To help this issue going forward, I will be contacting weights, and measures first thing this Monday to communicate pricing discrepancies that I have screen shots for, I will Lao be reviewing their online prices weekly and communicating the issues to weights MTD measures who will mystery shop them. I placed a delivery yesterday but after a few hours it had to be cancelled since there were no one to deliver around my area. I understand, not a problem. Today they delivered my order first thing. I was given a 15% discount, gave me a Heavy Hitters landyard and some cool stickers. Josh's was cool and chill .Thanks for delivering and saving me the trip.  Great service as always.

Amazing place. Very unique collection and prices are very reasonable. Staff is the very friendly. Above is my old statement 4 years ago. Today quitting smoking weed is better than smoking CHAI weed. This place has become a mess and collections are terrible and prices are way way beyond insanity. I pay high dollar for good weed, not for what they sell now.
