Whoever they got running the front desk really need to learn how to deal with proper customer service. I'm sick of employees being disrespectful and not wanting to help their customers. Last time I will ever be back

I rarely write reviews but I had to after the awesome customer service I got at Higher Level tonight. Marcel (Im pretty sure that was name!) who is a manager there, totally righted my wrong and was so so sweet. This is the best dispensary in the area and with staff that is this nice and accommodating, that's the way it's going to stay. Thanks guys!

So I have severe social anxiety and when I went in and spoke to Aysha I immediately felt comfortable. I started taking medicinal marijuana for my panic attacks and coming to a place w nice staff really helps w the whole process !

My fav spot in the area ! Staff is super friendly and def know their product! They have a huge variety of things and lots of deals and specials!

total trash- mask nazi's,  i thought natural medicine people understood that breathing is fundamental. perhaps these idiots want to debate that fact.. after they threw me out, rudely ordered me around, embarassed me and made for one of the most awkward experiences in my life - thise jerks denied the face shield and demanded that i worship satan -by participating in a submission ritual and covering my identity.  i love god and i will not worhip satan even to get weed.the best part of the ordeal is when the security guard gets all froggy with me and threatening.  he needs his ass kicked.  and then he has the  nerve to tell me that mj is bad for your health.  i can see that they educate their employees - not.  what a dumb ass.  really ?  regi jackson get it together bro.  i am gonna sue ur ass for this discrimination if u even stay opened that long.do not support these evil bastards. go somewhere else.

Beautiful location with a great selection. Very knowledgeable staff ready to lead you on your way to a great purchase!!! I highly recommend it!!!

This place had a great staff but needs to get some better brands with the disposables. Make sure you bring cash ATM charges 3.25 and I had to do it twice because one of the machines ran out of money. So spent 6.50 !! And they had no deals at all. Santa Cruz shops much better

DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY AT THIS DISPENSARY!   They should NOT be licensed as a medical dispensary!! I visited almost every medial dispensary in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties - and this dispensary is the WORST.  I never have disagreements with any other dispensary employees - they know what they're doing.  But not at Higher Level - they are clueless BULLIES.  None of the employees are educated about medical marijuana - they pretend they know, but they do NOT know what they're doing!  I needed a container of 2000 mg butter, and one of the misogynistic "managers" told me I could buy 2 containers of the 1000 mg butter instead - as if that's the same thing!!  WHAT??  He was SERIOUS.THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR ADVERTISED SPECIALS.Their website said there's a "special" on Monday - buy 2 edibles and get the 3rd edible at half price.  I don't know about you - but I eat butter - I  don't smoke it.  I was in there Monday to buy butter and they refused to honor their discount!!  They told me butter isn't an edible. Really?  I'm supposed to smoke butter??The male "managers" and "assistant managers" are all misogynistic.  I'm 71 yrs old & every time I go there they BULLY me!  Tino is supposed to be the branch manager, but he's worse than any of them!  They do NOT know what they're doing and they must have their "medical" license revoked. The employees know NOTHING about using cannabis for healing.  Each time I go in there - I have to fight to get what I need. I've been going to dispensaries since 2009 and NONE of them ever bullied me like the misogynistic men that work at this dispensary.The  men that work at this dispensary, including Tino who is the so-called "manager" - are very disgusting and misogynistic. They bully me every time I go in there, but then they blame ME and say I'm the problem. TYPICAL MISOGYNISTIC behavior - blame the woman. They have no idea how medical cannabis works on the body. In fact - I'm sure that most of them don't even use cannabis! I always catch them in mistakes.LADIES - go somewhere else to spend your money. There are many other dispensaries that have KIND people working who are knowledgeable. They are NOT knowledgeable at Higher Level. They are BULLIES and will be put out of business!

Knowledgeable, friendly staff and not pushy at all. I have had some not so super experiences at dispensaries,  but never here. I always leave with what I need and everyone is so friendly and I always leave feeling appreciated. They have a wide selection of products, including local items at the best prices. If you are into edibles, they have one of the best selections in Monterey, hands down for the prices. They also have some of the best daily deals including 20% off everything on Sundays! I HIGHLY (no pun intended) recommend this dispensary...the owner, Sal, dealt with a problem I had with my purchase within MINUTES online and resolved the situation. He did it with complete professionalism and courtesy...their prices are highly competitive and in some cases better than other local dispensaries...but the icing on the cake is that the owner takes a "hands-on" approach and really cares about his customers. I will remain a satisfied customer...and you will become one too when you visit Higher Level!!!

I recently had surgery and unfortunately I'm allergic to narcotics. I found it necessary to find something to alleviate pain. I explained what I was looking for; pain relief without psychotropic effects. The young man that assisted me was understanding, friendly and knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. Excellent customer service and a wide selection of versatile goods. Thank you!

This used to be our go-to cannabis shop. They had great deals, and the staff was friendly. The last time we went, the security guard out front refused to scan my id because he was watching a conflict in the parking lot. He told me to "hang on, I'm going to watch this" and made me stand there while he watched the drama unfold. Two more employees came out, and they all began to talk about what was happening in the parking lot.  Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for them to scan me in. They are enforcing mandatory masks for their customers, and made a big deal that mine had a vent in it.  Upon going inside, their employees had vents in their masks, and some employees had their masks hanging around their neck or under their nose. This used to be our favorite shop, but now we go somewhere that is more professional.

Very disappointing and dissatisfied. I went in there for my sister who has severe nerve pain and has had over 20 surgeries. I bought over $200 worth of product including a glass water bong. I'm definitely a newbie only understanding the medical aspect of how cannabinoids work with being in the medical field but anyone speaking with me would understand I know nothing and am a newbie. I didn't even know what to expect when I got in there, how to purchase with only cash, and other questions to ask including MAKING SURE TO CHECK THE BONG FOR CRACKS! I trusted the very nice guy and didn't think anything of it when he looks at me with a huge smile and stated all sales final with the glass bong. Of course, who would want a used bong... so understanding that I said okay. When I get home to help my sister who is going through a difficult time with pain dealing with a multitude of conditions such as Hydrocephalus, Syringomyelia, and Arnold Chiari Malformation Type 1 that the bong in question has a crack in it! Come on. Seriously! Then I try to call and no one actually answers the phone but it does to recording. I went here because of the reviews but after this, I'll be going somewhere where they have a little bit more customer compassion and understanding than this place!

I stopped into Higher Level to check on a particular Gummy I use. Though not in stock, I did pick up a some items as I saw Garrison, my old friend bud tending. It's always good to get a Bud tender that listens to you. And does not push products on you that you don't want. Special shout out to Tyler James Licata and Lea Dudley. I will be looking out for special deals now at HL

First time ever in a collective and we were highly impressed not only with the store but the first class employees working there. They are extremely professional and the store is really nice. It's in a beautiful building with a dedicated parking lot and a guard outside.

Out of town on vacation and decided to stop in. Got three disposable vapes and some flower and gummies.  One vape stopped working pretty quickly but upon returning to the store they were more than understanding and great about an exchange. Highly recommend, will definitely come back any time we're in town. Great quality and great experience.

I asked for a simple exception today and was told no.  What wouldn't have cost them a dime costs me another hour of my time.  Nothing to do with the nice bud tender just the wizard behind the green curtain.  Find a way to say yes next time for loyal customers.

Great set up, so.many selections and good prices. My husband is a Marine corp veteran and suffers from ptsd,they  provided him with front  of line access.

Came in to exchange a concentrate my husband had purchased the night before because it was almost a year old. He made the purchase on Sunday night 12/8/19 came back to the car to look at the product and the packaging was tampered with so he went back to exchange it for one that was not opened. So he comes home with the same product but this was It was manufactured on January 12,2019 and was very much darker than the first one he had bought (the one that was opened) Anyway I just wanted to exchange it for one that wasn't a month from being expired. With concentrates they can loose up to 50% THC when sitting over time. Also the color can darken as this did. I expressed concern to the manager that I wasn't comfortable consuming something that was almost expired and that could possibly have lost half of its THC content and almost all terps. He was very rude and just told me no he wouldn't do it. I explained the situation from the night before he didn't care.. even though he was the manager the night before that exchanged the open concentrate....    I personally work in the Cannabis industry and I just feel completely ripped off. I will definitely not be shopping at this store anymore they don't seem to know much (my husband went in for a crumble and they gave him a live resin he asked are you sure this is crumble and they told him yes, he couldn't tell because they're was no display)or even care about their Patients.

I stopped by when out of town. Just looking to get something small to last me through the day until I get back home. The security guard was a dick, the employees were dicks. I ended up leaving without buying anything and I went to Reef instead to get my meds which is what I highly recommend doing. Don't wast your time here. Go somewhere, ANYWHERE else. **EDIT** I do have to point out that the owner messaged me shortly after I posted this review and apologized for my experience and explained some things to me. He seemed to be very genuine and sincere which I greatly appreciated. Next time I am visiting the area I will give them another try. Thank you for reaching out to me, Sal. One of my favorite dispensaries in the area! Sunday is definitely the day to go with 20% off everything. They've got my favorite Kanha gummies and PLUS gummies. Plan to go back here whenever I'm in the area.

Great business hours - After 9pm on the Monterey Peninsula might as well be 3am so salute to them for staying open late enough for working folks.Budtenders - every single one of them I've talked to has been very friendly, knowledgeable and otherwise excited to be at work. Love them.Security - friendly door guard contracted from local company. It provides a lot nicer image than how the medical dispensary scene used to be, which was like being in a secret medical lab crossed with the Carter from New Jack City. These guys have it dialed in.The only caveat to the enjoyable vibe (for me) is the phone phobia once you arrive inside the sales room. While checking my notes for a previous item I liked, a man resembling Doofy from the Scary Movie franchise and wearing a much oversized hat, swung in from a backroom and barked at me to turn my phone off, before scolding the budtenders about keeping an eye out for this sort of riff raff. I've seen felony arrests play out with less vigor. To Doofy, if you're reading this, it's all good and I understand that there is a very, very good reason for the no phone policy. I am not secretly Jeff Sessions wearing a pothead costume to go do undercover surveillance at dispensaries, and you have nothing to fear from me. I will continue to enjoy your business and spend my money here.All in all, my preferred bud store on the Peninsula. Thank you guys.

This place is awesome! Came here right before closing ( which is really annoying for me to do, I know).And I can't say enough great things about these guys! The cute lady at the counter was awesome and so incredibly nice, we chatted for a bit. I was then let inside and waited in line for a bit but they had several people working so they were able to cycle through quite a few customers before I was helped.I got up to the counter and the gentleman that helped me knew his stuff. I know very little about strains and really anything with cannabis and he helped me and didn't make me feel like an idiot, which is actually really nice because it happens.. I asked for a pretty strong cartridge and he didn't just give me the strongest brand, he told about the different types they have and if it really was what I wanted. He put in the effort and i left really stoked on my trip! I use cannabis for my depression so I never actually LOVE going to a dispensary but they would be my usual spot if I lived here for sure solely based on their customer service. Go in and support these Guys! They deserve it!

I have been coming here for quite some time, but the new online order rules are a joke! I ordered online and they happened to be out of the flower I chose. I was only given one replacement option or else I had to get back in the long ass line! Like what's the point of the online order then!! Before, we were allowed to look at some different options and go from there. That's how it should be!

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all of the questions I had and even gave us suggestions. Front desk acknowledge that it was my birthday and said happy birthday again as we were leaving. Very clean and organized establishment.Would highly recommend this place!

Best customer service I've had from any type of business. Been going here for some time now. Ever since the beginning they've had such incredible customer service and it's only gotten better. Each  person is always smiling, remembers my name, and is knowledgeable. I get genuinely excited to go just to see the team. They also have great daily deals.

Worst place to buy concentrated products.Since they changed the person in charge of ordering. Pretty legit place. Looks like the guy who reviewed before me was on his man-period. Or he's from a different dispensary. No one just comes out and yelled at you for no reason. The place is always restocked with good stuff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING HERE..

I used to like this place until today. The security guard out front was extremely rude to me. He is just one of the male chauvinist pigs that Uretsky Security seems to always hire. I won't be going back here. The issue was in the parking lot. I was waiting for one of their few parking spots when this jerk screamed at me to circle the block! Totally unnecessary.

Higher Level has the best bud selection and friendliest staff in town! I've never looked at their menu and went in to buy something and it not be in stock which happens all the time for me at other places.

Usually I have nothing but high recommendation for any of the employees who have helped me there except for one employee, Mark. Each encounters with him have been less than pleasurable. Being what I would call more than a regular customer, for some reason he already seems irritated to help me and has an attitude. He will not show me any products off the bat, will only read out the names and if I ask to see them he will only bring two at a time when other employees have brought more than 4 or 5 at a time. This last time I even told him that and his only response was "sorry about that." This evening I even had to say "I am a visual person" before he would show me the product. I told him his service is different than the other employee and his was response just was "I am sorry." I am not sure if Mark understands that there different thc % and different cannabinoids %. Mark never even asked if I wanted to use any of my points. Like I said at first, I usually have a great experience and would give a 5 star rating, just after this last visit with Mark, it couldn't go without complaint.

I was very disappointed by our treatment by the parking staff during our visit to Higher Level today (1/19/20).  We came in and the parking lot was full, so after a drive around the block, we parked in a public parking space across from the store; as we walked over to the store, a Higher Level employee told me and my wife we could not park in this public parking space. Here I will mention that my wife has a severely painful disability that affects her ability to walk and has a handicap placard for this reason. Not thinking it would be a problem to park in a public parking space across from the store ,as we often do on our visits to Higher Level, we took my car today, which does not have a handicapped placard in it. I will also mention that the area we parked in was entirely devoid of cars, and us parking there certainly would not have deprived anyone else of a place to park. When I asked the employee why we weren't allowed to park in this public parking space, she said that, "we have a friendly agreement with the business owners across the street to not allow our customers to park in these spaces" and threatened to refuse us service if we did not get back in our car and move to a different place. When I explained my wife's disability the attendant suggested we get back in our car and continue circling around the parking lot until a space opened up. Well, I don't think your "friendly agreement" is very friendly to your guests, especially those with disabilities who suffer as a result of your policy. And guess what, you guys do not own the public street, and just because you and the other business owners got together and made an arbitrary decision about who can park where, that does not give you the right to subvert parking laws or refuse people a public parking space. By law we have every right to park in that space. Shame on management for this policy.

I'll make this one short and sweet. Always had great customer service here. Their bud tenders are very knowledgeable and patient. You can't beat their pricing. They include sales tax in their prices which is awesome. And their reward program and daily specials are extremely generous. That's it. Looking for a reliable dispensary. Look no further!

I love it how they printed out and framed pictures of COVID-19 procedures and cations! Best weed for a good price! Friendly stafff and Sunday's is 20% off always!

Friendly, and welcoming staff. Always a great selection of products. I'm quite picky on my concentrates..and they always seem to please me. Great quality products..and delicious fruity pebbles edibles. Definitely avoid Sunday's, however, if want a quick in and out.. Its 20% off everything that day so everyone flocks.

My favorite dispensary. Whenever I come to the bay I stop here, and make sure to get the necessities. When I first came here I had the BEST customer service. I wish I could remember her name, but she was super helpful and seemed like she really put customers first. Awesome they hired people with good service. And of course amazing products. It never seems to be that busy either, but I highly recommend you check them out if you're ever in the area.

Good selection and good quality. However some of the people in here could use some customer service training. It was my first time in and I didn't realize they only accepted cash. While I'm saying I'll be back multiple times, some guy with glasses behind the counter gave me a funny look and a funny look at the bud tender that was helping me. I come back not even 10 minutes later from my bank down the street at the Safeway to find out they had just put my order back. Like did I not say multiple times I would be back? I didn't catch any names but the two females that served me provided pretty good service. Just apparently the manager and some guy with glasses could use some lessons on how to treat a customer. I ended up getting what I needed though at least. Didn't tip though because of that.

I used to think that REI was my favorite store- but Higher Level just moved into first place. The clerks are very nice and helpful and it was a relaxed shopping experience.

They sold me a 1gram cartridge that was broken and they refused to give me a new one because they thought I was lying when I said it was already broken when I purchased it. I got home, opened the package, saw it was broken, out it back in the box and went straight back in with the product and my receipt. They said since I couldn't prove it was a manufacturing error, they couldn't give me a new one. I spent $60 on a broken product just to have them say that's too bad.

As a former cannabis producer, and current medicinal patient, I recommended this place. Low-stress, efficient staff. No BS. Most importantly, they offer good advice on price, and don't seem to be squeezing customers for every penny. I get bargains here regularly, so I will be back.

Not bad shop. Little expensive for the area and other shops around. They have flowers, prerolls, wax, cartridges, and edibles. It was a good experience and the staff made me want to go back. This is my vacation spot, so it's nice to now have a spot to return to.

I read one review where the person said the front desk people need to be nicer? What! If the front desk people were any nicer, they'd buy the weed for you lmfao. Everyone is super chill especially the girl that does super artistic eye makeup (I'm so bad with names) and they go out of their way to make sure you're satisfied with your purchase. They treat everyone with respect and I've never had an issue here, even when I got a bad Select cart, they replaced it with no questions asked.

Every time I come in the bud tenders are super helpful and always have some great recommendations. I haven't had a bad experience here yet and everyone is always pretty nice for the most part. Sometimes there's a little wait but that's because of there big selection for the most part. Defo recommend checking out.

This place is overpriced trash, don't waste your time. I smoke top shelf out a bong and every "top shelf" eighth I got was harsh and cured to fast. Black ash and harsh hits. If you want anything decent be prepared to spend $65+ for mid grade. Plantacea dispensary off Fremont is the way to go!

Of all the dispensaries in the area (there are a TON!) not only does higher level have the best products, but they have what looks to me like the greatest inventory on the peninsula--in numbers and in quality. Love this place!  First, a great bathroom and filtered water fountain.  From the security person to the final purchase, everyone is personable.I'm a senior, lived through the 'glory days' of buying a "three-finger lid" for $10 from your girlfriend's neighbor's uncle.  The store is 'hip', yet maintains a certain 'professionalism'.  I always ask for suggestions from the budtender.  The pricing is comparable to others, however, everyday is something new!  Sunday is my favorite.It's a bit of a challenge to get into their lot, but I've developed a method!

I've been a long time customer of higher level since they were located in  Castroville I now live in San Jose and drive all the way out here to get the best deals around but after tonight I'll probably never come back the Supervisor on duty her name is Syreeta she was absolutely rude and had horrible customer service she was so rude she even crinkled my bag and stapled it cause she was too high on the job and couldn't do her actual job. She also outed me as I go by max and it states that on my profile and she loudly used my dead name I mean even after me telling her that my name is max and I do not go by that name she continued to use that name and repeated it after I told her not too I myself manage a dispensary and understand things get hectic but to have this person with a horrible attitude that couldn't even say sorry because she messed up she rang up my girlfriends order and didn't even take the money for it luckily we are honest people and told her we never paid for the order but she couldn't even understand that she gave us an order we didn't pay for that's the kind of management you guys have as the face of your store. You just lost a loyal customer

This place is great! Really good daily deals.

Very clean very convenient, parking was a little tricky and Google maps did bring me in the wrong side but no big deal. Everyone was wearing masks they're asking all of their non-vaccinated clientele to also wear masks. Selection was vast. I was able to walk in and walk out in less than 5 minutes with exactly what I needed. Staff was working very hard on what seemed to be possibly to go orders because there was really only me and another guy there. I'd recommend it

This place is the most solid and friendly CA recreational marijuana store I've ever had the pleasure of going to. And now it's my local spot and I'm so stoked!! This place is great! Really good daily deals.

Very clean very convenient, parking was a little tricky and Google maps did bring me in the wrong side but no big deal. Everyone was wearing masks they're asking all of their non-vaccinated clientele to also wear masks. Selection was vast. I was able to walk in and walk out in less than 5 minutes with exactly what I needed. Staff was working very hard on what seemed to be possibly to go orders because there was really only me and another guy there. I'd recommend it

This place is the most solid and friendly CA recreational marijuana store I've ever had the pleasure of going to. And now it's my local spot and I'm so stoked!! From their daily deals to customer appreciation days I can't recommend enough. Edit: this place is still amazing a year later. They haven't changed at all and are still so knowledgeable. Keep going strong!!
