This place legit used to be one of the best dispensaries in Pasadena. However, lately the employees that work there seem like they have an attitude and don't wanna be bothered by helping anyone. Then when they do actually help, they make small talk at the register and waste time instead of helping other customers out. In addition, they have a rewards program where you can earn points, but in reality the points are useless. I have over 700 "reward" points and not once have they talked to me about them or told me what they can actually get me.  If you're looking for tree, highly recommend looking elsewhere.

BEWARE! Check the manufacture date on your meds make sure they're not old I went in the other night and got three live rosin Slurricane by STIIIZY and the date on it said 6/2020 it's 8/2021 today that's 1 year and 2 months old. I will definitely not not be coming back to get medication at Essence Cannabis Dispensary anymore. You guys have a great day stay positive.

My boyfriend and I visited this place last wknd. Upon arrival we were a bit all over the place as this was our first time here. Mia (with the pink hair) immediately took us under her wing and guided us through the browsing process as everything is done via iPad. Its very organized and simple once explained. She made wonderful recommendations upon listening to what we were looking for. She was very pleasant and informative and we left very happy costumers! We will be back! Thanks Mia

This was an amazing shop that was so clean and contemporary and high class! Felt totally comfortable there and was impressed with their variety of edibles and weed! A gal named Lolo helped me and was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! I will definitely be returning to this store and recommend it to anyone!

Great spot. I came in with a specific need (sleep issues), and the bud tender Lolo pointed me to several options. Ended up buying the Camino sleep time gummies and the mint chocolate Kiva which have both been fantastic in helping me fall and stay asleep throughout the night. They also taste really good. Maybe too good. Don't take both at once like I may have done the first night ;)

This is my regular stop when it comes time to re-up. Kimberly = best vibes. I really enjoy their midrange flower products. Best selection around and super friendly staff. Wish they had more specials.

I'm disappointed to say that Essence, previously the nicest dispensary in Pasadena, has gotten really annoying. When you walk in, you're besieged by staff but strangely, once you're ready to check out, it's a hassle. You're waiting while the one person working the counter gives another customer a 15- minute lecture on the finer points of terpines. Should you dare ask someone hanging out on the floor for an assist, prepare for major attitude. It's weird! And on my last visit, that same lone cashier wore her mask under her nose. We're only what, 18 months in?

First time ever in a dispensary so I was nervous. The staff easily explained what to do and would answer any questions. Using the iPads to order and pickup at the window for checkout was so easy and gave me space to look at all the products. Excited to go back and try things I didn't even know are out there!

Best place ever. The people are super nice, great customer service. They have everything you need there. I like everything about this place and Tatiana was great.

I'm glad we now have an easily accessible dispensary in town.  And, a really nice one to boot.  The staff was very friendly and informative.  It seems more like an Apple boutique than a dispensary.  There's a lot of natural light, which is pleasant and unique for dispensaries.  Definitely worth a visit.

So much yes. Friendliest Staff. Interior design is just the right amount of bougie--less pretentious than MedMen. Good prices, options and displays. They even threw in a deal for me on the spot. Show them some love in these trying times and you will feel love in return.

This place deserves a million stars!! By far the BEST experience I've ever had at a dispensary. They have a great selection, it's VERY clean, and the staff is AMAZING (huge shout out to LoLo!). I will 100% be back and will forever be a loyal customer because their staff was SO kind and welcoming.

Very expensive, and the tax isn't reflected on the menu, so it can be a real surprise when you get to the checkout (especially since it's cash only). Otherwise their selection is great and the staff are generally extremely friendly and helpful

The best dispensary I've been to, ever! The whole experience feels elevated and luxe without being pretentious - all the staff were above-and-beyond friendly and helpful. So many different options and price points. They carry my new favorite edibles (Rose Delights) that nobody else around here has, so I'm stoked. Thanks for the rec, Lolo!Also - they have *really* good deals going on for 4/20 (go, run, get stuff!)

Wonderful staff and it's kind of an interesting place - you can order your items on iPads or other standing monitors, and then pick up your order at the front desk.  If you actually talk to the staff, they also are great at giving advice on which items you might want to check out depending on your needs.  Love this place.

I placed my order online to pick up in the store. However, upon arrival, I made additional purchases. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Orders are placed at a kiosk on a tablet. You wait for your order to be prepared then pay for it up front. Upon entering Essence, I did not smell weed! This was very welcoming. Product is stored in back away from customers; obviously for security purposes. Devices are on display and the dispensary was very clean. This is the best looking and smelling dispensary I have every visited (I have been to a few on my visits to California).Be sure to bring cash because that is all they accept. There is an ATM on site.

I like this place because they sell weed. I don't like this place because everybody acts like a dick. Highly recommend because there's no such thing as drug dealers anymore but don't go in thinking you're going to get treated kindly. It's like everyone is mad you decided to show up to buy weed at the only store in town that sells weed.

(Context: First time customer, I chose Essance because it was a convenient location for me.) My experience was very demoralizing and extremely disappointing. I felt truly disrespected,  disgusted and if I was a nuisance by just being there. I was in the establishment for a duration of 10 ish minutes. I asked questions only to be treated as if they were an inconvenience and also "stupid". I told Anthony that I felt uncomfortable because of how he was treating me with his over all  demeanor and the tone he had in his voice, in the end I decided not to continue with making my purchase and left because it was THAT uncomfortable. If you feel like being disrespected and treated like a nuisance this is your place to go, just ask for Anthony.

First time customer at this business, and from the moment I get out then I was hit up for joining their loyalty program. That was a drag. Second, the product is not out for you to look at except in a few items in display cases, And even then the products are sealed inside their box. What they want you to do is make your order from an iPad, as though you were shopping on Amazon at home. Keep in mind that this a large retail space with many display cases, not a small hole in the wall. I found something I liked, but then felt really weird about paying for something I couldn't at properly look at, aside from a very tiny picture on the iPad. The person helping me went mechanically through her script. I asked if there was to someway see (in person) a product similar to the one I was buying, and that wasn't a part of her script so she had to go to the front desk for help. That's when I decide to leave, and I won't be coming back.Prices did seem less. So the only positive is, if you already know what you want and they happen to carry it.

Well today was my first time here, had to switch it up, I was regularly going to East LA's The High Note but they have been out of the indica gummies for over a month now... and that's the only product that I use. Anyway,Great first experience here. Orders my products online to pick up, it's cash only, got a text message saying my order was ready, went picked it up, the cashier was super helpful and friendly, had me sign up for their rewards program. I've got no complaints so far, looking to try these new gummies.In the words of Arnold, "I'll be back".

The interior is like a wooden Apple store. Nice vibes. Interactive shopping kiosks all over the place. Good selection and wide price range. Lots of high-end, reputable labels. Very likely to return.

They are building it up! Selection is growing and is very impressive for edibles and concentrates. Lots of full spectrum options.

Very quick, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great selections, nice store inside and out. Easy to find and locate store. We went to 3 place before finding Essence. First dispensary said they were closed and gave us another address a long ways away. The 2nd dispensary ended up a private residence in a alley. The 3rd we could not find.

What a classy joint!(pun intended) ;D Seriously though, I loved that they opened in my neighborhood. It so convenient for me! I just go through through their website, make my selection, and walk over. Navigation on their site is easy. Once you confirm the order, you’ll get a text confirmation on your phone. I like how clean looking the inside is, and they have a good selections of consumables and merchandise. I even noticed a designer glass pipe with a fancy box on one of the shelf. The staff are always all cool and friendly too! And just today, I found out that I’ve been earning points and can redeem at any point. Ask the staff yourself, when you visit, for those details.
