So this was the closest shop to me when I first got my card in early 2018 and started off as my favorite. They USED to have great variety and turnover, and great tests on their buds. Staff WAS friendly and helpful. The problem here was always that the price was high, but I didn't mind paying for quality.Recently though these guys have not been releasing new strains, and are currently offering only 4 in bud form, the rest is shake only. I wear a facemask because I am immunocompromised from chemo. Twice someone here has asked me if I have allergies or a cold. I mean, come on... this is the NJ medical marijuana program. You have to know cancer is a qualifying condition and that you are treating cancer patients. A little compassion maybe? Some common sense?Anyway, my guess is they aren't release strains because they are working on their vape carts and extracts. The website has a "coming soon" section that lists all that stuff, but hasn't been updated in months. Also, this is the 1 shop that forces you to make an appointment each time you go, or risk waiting forever to get your medicine. The system they have in place to get patients into the purchasing area is very slow and inefficient. I've waited here for over an hour due to a combination of their computers being down and the slow process of only buzzing through 2 people at a time to buy. All that said, this place is still my #3. Patiently waiting for the extracts though... may grab #2 from Breakwater if they can get it together.
I know we're in the middle of a pandemic, but even before that it's so hard getting an actual person on the phone or a call back if you leave a message. It's a huge facility, but the selections are awful and sparse. I'm not sure if the pandemic can be blamed for that because I've seen other dispensary menus to compare, and places like Harmony and Breakwater seem to be fully stocked! I'm guessing that's why it's so hard to book an appointment at one of those places! Today they're only offering one variety of a vape cartridge, and it's CBD!! I'm not a medical marijuana patient to buy what some of my friends sell while working for CBD MLM companies! It's extremely frustrating because it's not like it's cheap! I'll be exploring other dispensaries in NJ because each time I try to get anything from Garden State, it's not a great experience!
They were supposedly out of the CBD stuff so I had to buy the THC strains which were way too strong for me. Very disappointed and I don't believe they were out of it. They sell what they have the most inventory of, not what a patient needs. They are dealing with patients who have medical needs and they are doing a disservice by serving their business before the needs of patients. Also, they don't sell lotions or oils or edibles. Also disappointing. I wasted my time.
Terrible service, untrained staff, rude manager unreliable menu and product. Save your money and time and go somewhere else.
I don't care what anyone says, the staff at GSD has ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help me!! They work with my illness and help me make my purchase as seem less as possible!! Amanda is a rockstar!! You can count on them!
It's a shame they can't keep up, not only that, but they go open up there second location in union? Expand your horizon a little.. this pathetic excuse for a dispensary has to sell curaleafs flower/pens/lozenges, than the employees have the nerve to talk trash about it, and say how it's old... Don't really feel like ranting, but there's about 20 other complaints I can make about this place, and for all of you that rate based on how the "employees" treat you, think about why there so happy and jolly, they get first dibs on ALL the stuff in that place to the point where it gets sold the hell out, no wonder there so jolly. If I could give this place 0-0.5 stars, than I would.
Had a really good experience at the Woodbridge location. A very nice young lady named Sara was kind enough to check to see if I was missing any discounts. So kind and thoughtful. Very much appreciated.Like to see more selections available, and legal product is slightly more expensive, but overall an extremely positive experiment.
Been trying for week to get flower. How does a dispensary not have flower? Not having any is great for my anxiety. It's like a pharmacy saying they don't have your prescription.
Their cannabis is very low quality for a dispensary. It burns weird and none of it tastes as good as it should. Combine with high the prices they charge and the small selection of strains, I'm giving this dispensary 1 out of 5 stars. I'm going someplace else.
Placed an order for 2 cartridges, waited over an hour and never got them so I left, huge waste of time definitely don't recommend
The front desk staff was friendly enough. Then you wait..and wait..and wait. Other despensaries would have cleared 20 people in the time that I waited. There were 4 other patients at the dispensary when I visited . I eventually got called in . The people behind the counter were barely friendly, mostly bothered by my limping, cane thumping self. They didn't even offer a seat. Just motioned for my card and stared untiI said what I wanted. They tossed my expensive product into a bag with all the care of a bodega cashier . I would not have felt comfortable asking a single question . I also can't see what the wait was about, the counter guy was chatting with his buddy before my transaction was even complete . Clearly not interested in engaging with the patients . On the way out, I asked to use the bathroom and was directed down a long hallway . I did notice a wheelchair, but doubt there would be an employee willing to push a disabled patient to the bathroom. So much for a truly accessible facility. The product was just ok, harsher than other dispensaries .
Staffs nice. But there's no way they should be charging the same price the guy on the street charges. Non profit my ass. "We cam supply everyone". Fat chance. Barely ever have flower and shake ar same time and god only knows what will be available from hour to hour. Oh and remember when they said they were getting am extraction machine so patients can easily ingest it. "We re waiting for the state" MAKE SOME PHONE CALLS OBVIOUSLY IT WAS PLANNED OR WHY WOULD YOU BUY THE MACHINE. Done with this place Yeah they give discounts for certain groups but only after the one in cranbury did it. Place sux......
i'm updating my review Quality products great service. Best inn new jersey.
Until GTI (they run RISE) opens in Paterson, us North Jerseyans have to trek for cannabis. Secaucus or Woodbridge? I don't count Greenleaf in Montclair, because they sold me (on my first visit) Blueberry Kush, which was 'all they had' available - which upon opening stank of mold. That was enough for me. You will NEVER get that experience at Garden State. I have sampled almost all varieties - High THC. High CBD. you name it, I sampled it. Every type of cannabis was first rate. Flower or Shake. I'm still skeptical on the lab results - especially on the shake. Also, the PACKAGING is PERFECT - round plastic containers that make getting at it, seeing how much you have left (sad) and storing it fresh - EASY. Don't ever change. Once competition and recreational start up, prices will have to drop (right now it IS way overpriced). The workers do their jobs, and if the person is nice, well, that's a bonus (and there are plenty of nice people there to help you) for me. There are also assh0les everywhere - both at times behind and especially in front of the counter. The scenes some of you customers put on is outrageous - just like the whiney reviews found here. Get your sh!t together. THIS place is a professional operation. If the demand wasn't so great and the supply limited, maybe they'd stock more of my favorites - and there are many....at one time they had 9 kinds of flower available - now it's down to 5 or 6...
The prices are so astronomical I suggest they rename the business to "The Martin Shkreli Love, Compassion and Greed Dispensary"
So i have to say when i first started going here I wasnt the biggest fan. But recently there stuff is the best around. Hats off to the growers its really some top shelf stuff. The buds look, smell, taste amazing and its fresh and potent. Plus now that you carry cartridges you always have my business.
Humble, considerate, caring, and educational employees that really go the extra mile to make your journey pleasant and easy. Niko went over and beyond to help educate my mother and I. It is a complete judgement free zone and they make you feel more than comfortable and at ease. Particularly one nice young lady, Sophie, that reassured me that I was in the right during some confusion with a dr.'s office. Considerate small gestures like those can really make an impact on someone's day, it did mine. The whole staff is patient, welcoming, and kind.
This dispensary has the potential to be the best in the state. if only they were transparent. The problem lies in the strain named description. I don't know what I'm purchasing here. Example- The Flo I've purchased at dispensaries in Wash D.C. and Colorado are not the same product of what you call Flo. Plus you new Atlantic Sunrise is the same misconception. Plus you have other named Strains that don't match the common known description or THC ratings. So this makes it very had for me with my condition to know that an aspirin at cvs is an aspirin at the Garden State. Plus I have to pay a minimum of $85 at the dispensary to find out the medicine (flower) your selling is not what I'm was expecting. So why not offer a free nug of something different with every purchase. Then we might decide what stain of yours can help us?
understand supply and demand but 60.96 for a vape ? COME ON
Very good product. Excellent customer service. It could be a bit of a wait sometimes depending when you get there. Pricey, but it is top shelf product. Always keeping it fresh with the new flavors.
I am a recent patient here and I am blown away by the level of professionalism and knowledge the staff has to offer from management right down to the cashier. I am thoroughly impressed by the level of caring that goes into the tailor made care for each patient. Great job !!
Very professional, and helpful first class dispensary! A+ is their grade. First off everyone is professional and courteous. You have to see a counselor on your first visit. I saw Alan. He was great, offered up lots of different bits of information I had never thought of asking, and explains how everything works. They have a streamlined system in place here and in NJ which is what is and will and make this medical program succeed. He also came over to me on my second visit to see how the first one went. This is how it's supposed to be done. Wait time was minimal and I was there on a busy day but make an appointment if time is of an essence to be safe cause it looks like they can get really busy. I had an appointment both times so my wait was minimal even the 1st consult visit was smooth and quick. Finally the medicine is first class, top shelf and expensive but it's medical at it's finest and worth it. Hopefully the price will come down one day as I can currently afford it but I can see where it might be an issue if one cannot. They had only 3 strains available when I went there but a week before they had 7 or 8 so it seems they sell and move through them quickly.
Such a great dispensary .the staff is amazingly helpful with questions and at finding what strains works best for me . Positive supportive atmosphere . You get a high-quality products that are beyond helpful for my medical needs .
Today is February 16, 2017 nothing is changed Garden State Dispensary continues to be petty little drug dealers I reported them to the Better Business Bureau there waiting to receive a response....
How does almost every time I get my flower in a Plastic bottle used for piss because once again sorry we ran out of glass. Well if anyone needs 3oz glass child resistant jars I'm your guy in NJ,NYC are. email: rsm81@supremejars.com
The staff is good. The staff at Union are all very polite. I've never come across a rude or intimidating staff member. The place always looks clean and although the pandemic has them now running a totally different operation, everyone has kept cool heads about things. However, there are a few flaws. 1) the parking situation can get really tough sometimes. I know under the circumstances this is out of your control but it can get really messy in that little parking garage. 2) there is no way (that I know of) that I can find the potency of my medicine before buying. I'm a strong potency kind of man and I want to know I'm getting strong potency meds when I pay top dollar. It's really annoying when you expect strong potency but get medium or low. I think the business should label potency strength on the menu. Other than that the place is good. Clean, helpful & organized.
Waited outside for 45 minutes to get pack I will not be coming back to this dispensary completely non professional
Just a heads up... because of the covid-19 you will wait over 4 hours to pick up your PRE ORDERED items. Got here at 10:30 - waited online to check in till 11:30 and I've now been sitting in my car waiting to be called. Currently it's 1:50. Was told I have an additional 40 minutes. To make matters worse, there are tons of blossoming trees across the street and it's windy out - if you have allergies - be prepared to cough and for people to give you the stink eye.The 2 stars are for staff whom are beyond friendly and for the great music!
First time here. yea newbie. I filled out paperwork online before I went there which saves a ton of time. Everyone was so helpful and answered all my questions and believe me I had many. it was difficult communicating with these darn masks, but we managed somehow. Products were abundant and the advice was helpful. Employees were so respectful and didn't treat me like an idiot. They made the transaction smooth, quick and I felt amazing when I left. Definitely can't wait to go back. They were quite efficient and I was in and out in 20 min. First diapensary I've ever been too, it was quite large and very clean. my only gripe is being able to get out of parking lot is like being a pace car in Nascar. I look forward to going again. you do have to make an appointment before you go and you can pre-order before you go. They do have curbside service but if you want to go in you obviously need a mask.
I'm new to MM. I didnt realize there are such options. I just assumed I make Appointment, go ansa pick it up. I had my 1st app which was a Zoom consult. The person i Apple to(i fofor hia nane now) was friendly and pleasent to speak with. He was very knowlegable. I made a second app which was curbside. The guu the brought my package out was friendly and helpfull ase well. Overall, i went into this anxious and uninformed. I now feel much mmore at wiase.
Long waits all the time!!! Sending one person back every ten minutes. Curaleaf is so much better.
Could not give slower service if they were moving backwards. Not from a lack of staffing, or product availability- just plain apathy bordering on open hostility. Even if you put in an online order they won't start getting it together until you get to the store. So you're guaranteed at least an hour of waiting, soaking in the revolting fumes of their shop, while they eventually put your order together. And they don't care and won't offer any recompense when their low quality, way overpriced vape carts break and spill their $90 guts all over the inside of your vape pen. Which they have several times for me.

COVID or not, it doesn't take much to be upfront and honest and this place is everything but those things. Options for patients are limited, but I encourage anyone with true needs to avoid wasting your time and getting frustrated w the way this place does "business".
I come here every month solely because of convenience. It is not an issue that you must make an appointment to go. However, they are extremely slow for curbside pick up. Why? I am always early and send the arrival text, yet they dont respond for 10-15 mins after my appointment time. I made an appointment and paid with CanPay, it is so frustrating when curbside pickup should be quick and seamless, but I always end up waiting here 30 minutes. I dont know what is wrong inside there but they are extremely slow. The service is the biggest issue this place has.Zenleaf is amazing and better fastest and easiest process.
This is a satellite retail store for the main dispensary in Woodbridge. Since they're small and don't grow on site like Woodbridge does, the stock can be smaller and they tend to run out of popular products quickly, or don't receive them at all from Woodbridge. The first time you visit a Garden State Dispensary (Union or Woodbridge so far), you need an appointment. You meet with a counselor who explains the process and describes their offerings. I highly recommend visiting the Union branch if you are able for your first appointment, because it is less crowded. Beware that they have very limited hours, so I would recommend checking their hours first and scheduling an appointment online. Before your appointment, the dispensary will email you a DocuSign to fill out before you arrive, basic waivers and a checklist of ailments you may or may not be experiencing. The benefit of visiting Union first to do this is that once you're in their system, you're good to go. So if/when you go to Woodbridge, you can sidle up to the returning patients line and wait to be called to go into the back, no meeting with a counselor again.OK, back to Union. When you get to the dispensary, you check in with the front desk. If it's your first time there, she'll take you MMJ card and a form of ID. If you've been there before, just the MMJ card. First timers wait for their appointment, while returning customers are put on a list and asked to wait in the lobby. When a budtender is available, the receptionist will call your name and invite you to go back to make your purchase.I feel very safe and welcome in this location. They have a police officer on site to make sure everything goes smoothly. The process is great, the people are nice, and everyone is more than willing to answer any questions you may have. The only downfall is very limited hours. Currently, they're only open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am-6pm.
Organized, Quick, Efficient. If you're a new NJMM Cardholder you fill out the form online, they take walk-ins but appointments preferred. If you know what you like just order online for pick up. They have 6ft markers on the floor outside and allow 1 person in at a time. You order what you'd like and then wait in your car for them to bring it out with a card reader to pay from your car. I decided to get the Golden Goat (Sativa) & Zkittles (Hybrid - Indica Dominant). So far I've tried the Zkittles and the flower was great, not overly dry and grinded with ease. They lost a star because compared to their competition in the near area, they don't have a newcomer discount and were also just over all more expensive. The menu was slightly confusing and cluttered to read but the employee working with me was amazing and kind of just told me outright what they had and I took it from there.
The menu was very limited yes, but that was clearly due to the pandemic. I was a patient for a bit before COVID-19 and they were never running low. Now that we are coming out of it, the menu is not at all sparse anymore. I got into the habit of checking the menu before making an appointment but now I don't have to anymore. There is a wide variety to suit all needs. Actual product aside, the staff is absolutely wonderful. Everyone there made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Due to my anxiety I came in one day in distress and I was not judged or asked to leave or anything like that. I was given water and taken care of to make sure I was ok. They go above and beyond to get the patients what they need. (Literally, I wanted a spray that was on the highest shelf near the ceiling and they immediately climbed a ladder and got it for me with no hesitation with a smile.) Thank you for a wonderful experience
They suck" The jar was opened and didn't get my discount for being on SSD and a Veteran I'll Never go there again ! I called them and sent pictures so far no one got back to me ' better off trusting people off the street !!
This place sucks and will definitely be the first one to go out of Business. The weed is alright but the prices are ridiculous and the customer service is terrible. Whoever runs this place needs to get there shit together.
I am so surprised with the bad reviews! This is some of the strongest stuff I have tried out in NJ! My new favorite dispensary, an hour away and worth the drive. Bubble gum, candy store smell and taste so sweet!! the hog will make you fall asleep ! Zkittles will have you laughing and relaxed. All so potent, I am so impressed!
Wow typical New Jersey. Garbage at everything. Plan on waiting for an hour. Apparently they employ one person a day.
When I got my medical card earlier this year, I liberally purchased flower, but the prices of carts were prohibitive in comparison to what you're given - $95 for 700 mg is delusional. Federal law prohibits customer satisfaction, which is why I was given a wrongly labeled pack of prerolls that a "manager" condescendingly told me would do me just fine. Yesterday, 12/26/21, was my breaking point with GSD Eatontown. The line was out the door, and I second-guessed getting my order due to my current COVID concerns - I have three full doses, but given recent news stories, I wanted to take caution.I approached the man who stood at the door. He had a horrendous attitude, speaking in an intimidating manner about the hour-long wait and handing me a sheet about curbside pickup instructions I was more than familiar with. This security employee is a contemptible authoritarian who thinks he's a police officer, making whatever personal comments he wants. If I saw this guy on the street, I would run the other way because he thinks he's the center of the universe, trying to make himself the face of this dispensary.I will NEVER buy from here again. Granted, it was the day after Christmas, but for the obstacle course you have to take for their VERY limited selection - the prices are prohibitive even with a medical card, the edibles are limited to "lozenges" with terrible reviews and low-quality gummies.Do better or close the location.
For my 300th review I'm going to tell you about Garden State Dispensary in Eatontown, and the NJ medical cannabis system as it stands in 2021.First off GSD is a classy legal medical cannabis dispensary located in Eatontown (they also have locations in Woodbridge and Union). The selections are rotated as they get new harvested products delivered. They carry whole flower (dried plant buds), smalls & littles (as the name implies, it's small buds from the same plants), pre ground for those who want ease of use, and pre rolled for even less skilled users. They also provide non smoking alternatives, vape cartridges for non combustion medication and they also carry edibles in the form of lozenges and tinctures (but NJ law is still young and changes to product availability is inevitable). They also carry smoking and vaping apparatus.Four stars for NJ prices, they're ridiculous, the grey and black market are far cheaper, they're not letting us grow it and taxing us to death on it.To be eligible in NJ for medical cannabis is pretty easy, but finding a Dr to prescribe it is not; I suggest nuggmd.com as a very easy way to get your NJ medical marijuana program card, easy sign up, low cost zoom and phone exams available. That being said, NJ law is in it's infancy, recreational marijuana has been made legal but is mired in red tape and favoritism for wealthy corporations but not common citizens of NJ.Also, if it's "legal", stop acting like it's dangerous, alcohol is 100x more dangerous and detrimental to your health and society, and opiate pain killers and other medications prescribed for millions of Americans are turning our people in to junkies.Really now, legalize it fully; make home grow legal, stop telling us what we can't do with a legal harmless plant, and how much we can have, or grow of this beneficial plant that has been used by mankind for thousands of years.
This past weekend was my first visit to GSD, and I have to say I was impressed. As of my visit on 6/26/21 - customers are still not allowed inside, but the curbside services was fast, efficient and professional. When you arrive, you park in a numbered spot, then text the given number and provide your name, MM ID number, parking spot number and method of payment. If you're paying cash - you also include the amount you will pay so that they can provide exact change. This process worked flawlessly, and the person who brought my order to my car was professional and courteous. I don't quite understand the negative reviews here because my experience was excellent and I would highly recommend GSD for your medical needs. If there is ONE area where I believe they can improve - it is in their selection. While they have a decent selection, I'd like to see even more options in the future. As it is though - they pretty much have most conditions covered - but more variety would be nice. Bottom line - great service, and great experience.
It's amazing, you need a medical marijuana license from NJ to go there. A person is available to give you advice on different strains and how they can help you based on your medical need.
I’m really big on customer service, and if security is the first person that is running to the door he should be polite, not rude. Two times I had to ask him a question and I walked away both times feeling upset. Garden State needs to do better, especially because we still can’t go in. Definitely not satisfied.
Super easy experience from start to finish. Was able to have some questions about what strain would work best for me during the new patient interview. Shopping online was simple and they delivered to my car. And the product is spot on
THIS PLACE WENT DOWN HILL every strain is way too dry I was told they got bought out by a Canadian company last month or so. Super lemon haze usually a good strain is not sticky but dry and is not potent anymore. I know some want masks but this little man beside the security guard provided less than pleasing customer service this coupled with poor product I don't think its worth giving them business
