Opening Day of Recreational sales and over a thousand customers at their doorstep waiting to take part. This was the challenge faced by the staff at Sunnyside and I have to say they were exemplary in every aspect. From the considerate updates to everyone in line about the process and how to be ready to the 400 pizzas they ordered to feed the masses, Sunnyside went above and beyond to do what they could to make the experience memorable for all. Their day to day business presents a very knowledgeable and passionate work force ready to help patients of every variety. I highly recommend them to any first time costumer or long time admirer of the culture.
I understand the negative reviews. What's not clear to most is this: The State of Illinois is experiencing a severe shortage of now-legal cannabis. Bad experiences are occurring at ALL dispensaries in this state EVEN IF YOU HAVE A MED CARD! Med users are given first shot at low inventories. Dispensaries cannot be blamed for this. That said, I'll clarify that I'm not in any way connected to this dispensary nor am I a med user. I waited nearly 12 hours on Jan 1 2020 in cold temps outdoors, in order to be part of history. Sunnyside handled quite well what could've been a debacle in most cases. They provided hand and feet warmers. They setup a tented area with heat, even though it wasn't large enough for the crowd. People in line were VERY cool about saving spots in line when others needed a bathroom break or went to their car to warm up or over to the Steak n Shake for a sandwich. It takes a village. Sunnyside also had pizza brought in, on New Years Day no less, from at least 3 different local shops. . . free to everyone. They kept a close eye on inventory, setting certain limits, so that at least everyone that waited was able to purchase something. I've not been back since Day One as I'm a light user. But Sunnyside In Champaign has earned my business by the way they handled what was, and apparently still is, a tough situation.
I'm a MMJ patient and have been going here for about a year. It's disappointing to see that the prices have risen about 10 percent in the last month. Seems shady because the other local dispensary has the " normal" pricing that we are all used to. I hope greed hasn't set in. I would love to remain a loyal customer but if it doesn't get corrected , I'll leave.
Lol, just waited 3 hours in line only to be told they were no longer serving anymore recreational customers. There was no warning that supply was running low, so there is clearly no appreciation of their customers time or patronage. About as much business acumen as child's lemonade stand.
Not quite what I was expecting....was visualizing glass displays and jars loaded with product from strains from a to z....a window shopping like experience....uh no...this is not Colorado...or Amsterdam...confused on if it will ever be like that? But my first experiece there was awesome althoigh it didnt meet expectations....security guys and associates were awesome....friendly...helpful...parking for adult use only complaint
I'm a bit upset with them that they refuse to allow me to take my purse to the checkout counter, which is in plain view, as am I, of three security staff members at all times. WTH am I going to steal, they have my medical marijuana ID card and my order is already printed out from online in their system, every single item of any value at all is under lock and key well away from my evil purse, I have been a client there since they opened, they KNOW me, I genuinely do not understand this and find it extremely offensive. They used to offer bottled water, fresh fruit, gummy samples, cookies while you waited. They used to answer their phone when you called, now they don't even return a phone call when you inevitability have to leave a message bc they seriously do not answer phone calls EVER. They used to have a punch card and when you made 10 purchases you got a discount-I was at that 10th punch when they decided not to honor this any longer-no heads up about this. They have a competitor who does answer their phone, and I'm increasingly tempted to switch but it seems somewhat complicated to do, that's pretty much why I haven't, but I am going to call and when NuMed ANSWERS THEIR PHONE, I'm seriously going to ask if I'm allowed to keep my purse during check out and, if so, I may just switch behind this issue alone bc it REALLY bothers and offends me. You used to be able to talk to on-site or phone advisors who steered you in the right direction when questions about medical issues vs product arose, that's no longer the case. There used to be daily online deals and/or bonuses-that's no longer the case. That said, the staff is very friendly with the exception of the security staff saving the world from my killer purse.
If you don't t have a medical card, don't bother. If they do start selling recreationally again, get there at least two hours before they open or you'll be in line all day!
Good inventory could be better without endless supply issues. Have no control over what they sell so they sell what they get. Makes it very hard to have favorites. Hard working staff but endless, ENDLESS computer problems. This week Took me 20 minutes to checkout just due to computers. Constantly have to remind of any discounts. Have not checked out once in two years without waiting and waiting for the computer. Ordering online amazingly does not speed things up due to their computers. Could do way better in that area and having a stable inventory. WAY Better!!
Super easy to place an online order, and everything is ready very fast. Would recommend to anyone. People are helpful and the space is clean.
Staff is helpful and friendly, was in & out within 10 minutes! The shuttle is nice as well, hope they keep the pre-order option available in the future. We would certainly return.
I went 2 days ago & it was an easy process. The line was short & I was impressed by how quick I was processed through. The parking was interesting & at first I thought they were only open for med only because of the signs. I parked and went in anyways. They had the two things I was looking for and I would totally go back. Only two recommendations, more explanation on parking signs that parking is for ada only, but store is open for everyone. The other recommendation would be to have an ipad out or a screen with what the options are so people can decide while they wait. I used my phone though- so there is that option as well.
Worst dispensary to go to in Champaign by far. Super intimidating and you can't even park in their parking lot if you are recreational. You have to park across a busy street and wait ages for a shuttle. Highly suggest other dispensaries in town where staff is much more friendly and it is way less stressful to pick up. Do not go here
Just a rotten Corp owes king overpriced goods, ruthlessly. Zero customer service. AVOID.
Alex C was very knowledgeable and made our 1st visit top notch! In addition to his recommendation, he offered tips on how to maximize the effectiveness and enjoy our gummy experience! Great job!
Employees are great! They have on their website a claim that they will hold a medical order until the end of the day. Twice they sold the items in my order, as I placed order in the morning, before work. Both times notified that I no longer have the items available to me.I called before work, and asked because I wanted a half ounce of indica, but couldn't get there in time. The man I talked to said, "we kind of have a way to get around that. We can sell the items but you can still have your order." What?
Everything was going good before I went in line when one person was at the register. After they were done and I thought I was next, I walked up and they said line one was first. There was no one in line 1 when I went into the store. They told me they had a medical card and were prioritized. So I got back in line 2 and waited for them to finish and decided to walk back up. Nope, another medical cardholder walked up in line 1 and they put them next. Then another employees comes out and takes my order - he could not have moved any slower. When I was about to pay he said the total, which was less than I was told online. Apparently the store was out of the battery and they were just going to sell me the kart without telling me they were out - I can't smoke it without a battery.Overall the weed is overpriced, the people lack customer service, and it is not worth going to unless you are medical. Last $160 I will spend there.
Champaign sunny side never disappoints they always have an amazing selection and a reward program that saves you $! The staff and security has always treated me with care and kindness as at other sunnyside stores I haven't had the same experience I really appreciate y'all! 10/10 every time :)
From VA.. great experience.. was nervous but now I'm so relaxed ??
I used the online pickup option. Easy to find. Small parking. They pulled my order up when I arrived. Small building but nice. Extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend, will definitely return
I use the flower for severe chronic pain in my neck. I don't have a medical card so I'm probably missing out on better flowers that help with pain, but the flowers they sell for the public at least helps me fall asleep at night faster. Please be responsible smoking or using edibles. I don't recommended using machinery that needs a sober mind or using it at work. It's best for Leisure time at home or a friend's house. Have a sober driver take you home.
The website is extremely easy to use. Service inside the store is streamline and very friendly. However security is very tight so you better have your online order ready or might as well turn your butt around. Overall quality of products is top notch. One of if not best cannabis shop Central Illinois.
I'll see, eventually.
Sunnyside* is a new kind of medical and recreational cannabis shop offering adults 21+ a friendly place to explore high-quality marijuana products to improve everyday wellness.
