I came to this dispensary because they advertised a certain price online. After purchasing that same product I saw that I for charged an extra $20 for that exact product. I complained and all they were able to do is tell me to contact customer service to only get store credit. Completely unreasonable and would not work with me to get the price they advertised online. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I would rate it 0 stars if I could.
What is the point of having an online pick up system if you make them wait with everyone else who wants to browse endlessly when it's busy. It eliminates the whole point of the system. Will be going somewhere else in the future.
This is a very professional operation. When you go to the first check in spot, they are so helpful with any questions about any product. Great staff. Very friendly.
I tried out this location for the first time late on wednesday evening and the worker at the front desk that was checking people in was so rude I have no desire to come back. A customer in front of me was just trying to tell the worker his name and it wasn't coming up in the system, and the worker had absolutely no patience and made the guy, who was clearly just confused, feel like an idiot. He eventually realized the guy accidentally placed an order at a different location that was much farther away (so the man couldn't have made it on time before closing), but rather than attempt to fix the situation or offer a solution, he just turned the man away and missed out on his business. And THEN he had the audacity to complain to the next woman in line about how dumb some people can be! It was so unprofessional, the woman was clearly uncomfortable, and the poor guy had just made an honest mistake (it's easy to not realize you have the wrong location set on their website) and had to walk away empty handed. The whole experience was so uncomfortable. Clearly I'm not the only one who's noticed the bad customer service because other recent reviews say the same. Not sure what's up with this location but spend your money at literally any other dispensary. Moca seems to be the best one in the city
I went in excited to visit sunny side but once I got to open my items the pre-rolls I had bought were empty. Nothing in the package no remanence of weed at all! I called the store to let them know and fix my problem. They told me I couldn't get the items I actually paid for and that they need to do an investigation!!
The only company that makes you wait in a 30 minute line when you've already ordered online and just need to pick up. Not a single state with legalization operates as poorly as IL & Sunnyside and no state has higher prices pre or post tax. Go anywhere but here. Moronic.
Went at the beginning of spring on a visit to see a friend. Ordered online and had seamless in-store pickup just an hour later. ATM on site. Security through out and multiple (7?) service stalls.
What a fun experience! I really like this business. It's a safe, clean dispensary in a nice neighborhood. I liked the decor a lot. The security guards and the staff were the friendliest people ever. I had very nice conversations with more than one employee and I was offered help with all my online browsing. Just remember at this location you must order online, only non thc/cbd products can be purchased inside. At this at this time, 3/18/21
Watch your back coming out of this place- Customers are being robbed right outside. Sunnyside is probably in on getting robbed cause they give you that bright yellow bag so everybody knows you have weed.Always carry a weapon when going to a Drug deal
Horrible experience! Would not recommend!Alexandria was rude at checkout as well. I won't be coming back!
No credit cards, debit only! The staff here was professional, sweet & pre ordering over the phone was so easy! Just walked in with my ID and picked up my order!
Different experience from other States I've visited Dispensaries.I like the set up..Check in Nice Lounge Brisk walk to Dispensary Verify EnterPurchaseByeEveryone was kind and respectful.I received product education and taste from my weedcator.I'll be back...
For starters the workers on Hubbard st, lacked maturity to say the least 3 girls were in there working but the girl that was taking order number Went to the point of chasing me out of sunny side to tell me my order was canceled because the person I went with asked her too many questions about topical cream she couldn't answer.. I never saw such unprofessional psychotic behavior. I've always had a nice experience at sunny side up until now I will never go back there and get treated somewhere so bad.
They steal your money they are losers and they will rob u on sight don't call them report this page they a con Artis
First time visit to this location. I've been to another Sunnyside in the past, so I placed a pre order. Once I found parking in river north on a saturday, I walked over. Waited outside for 30 seconds, and I was kindly welcomed in by security. Guy at the front counter had no personality, but that's ok, to hell with him, he sucks anyways. Into the lobby I go, and wait in a small line for the next register. I forgot to use the atm, so I stepped out of line for about a minute. Got back in line, waited for a minute, then I was called on. I got up there, and right away it was quite clear that "Jordan D" was not only a rhode scholar, but employee of the month. She mumbles my order, doesn't even look up or say hello. I probably wouldn't come here again unless I was in the area, but thanks "Jordan D" for helping me come to a conclusion. I hope you enjoy your job at sunnyside, because it's quite clear you're really going places. Moral of the story is $95 for mediocre shake is not worth it folks. I only bought it because I've never had this particular Verano product before, and my normal spot has a crappy menu as of late.
This place really makes it difficult to obtain product. I understand why they are taking the necessary precautions, but wow what a trip obtaining and paying for your products. A lot of moving between buildings to get your stuff. Staff was all pretty good, for the most part! Can't complain I suppose- selection wasn't bad.
Very personable, may have got my order a wee bit wrong but Mikaya was so sweet and professional and patient
Yesterday, Friday May 21, 2021 I came to visit Sunnyside* and my advisor Ernest K. did an awesome job of educating me on what the company had to offer to meet my needs. He was clear in letting me know about the different varieties and what will meet my individual needs! Great job, and THANK YOU ERNEST K. and Sunnyside*
So sad that the staff disappointed me here, especially on my first visit to them. I usually frequent the Elmwood park location and occasionally their other location on Clark St in Wrigleyville, both ok experiences.I placed my online order because you can't go inside and order anymore and to order online you need to place it within the first few minutes of every hour and they close the online orders... So even ordering online from these Assholes takes planning. I know.. I thought the same thing My online pickup was from 8pm - 9pm and was shooed away by the security guard at the Clark St. Entrance to another storefront around the corner and down a few blocks to get a "ticket"? Now I'm confused. So I start hauling ass because I know they close soon and I don't wanna be "that guy" but I was denied service at 8:40pmbecause it was "too close to closing time" although my text message said I had until 9pm. I won't return to this location. Sad.
I'm disappointed in lack of professionalism in your dispensary in Chicago, River North. I visited your shop after leaving the online order on my way to you. It turned out that exactly this product is out of stock. Who is going to pay for my way & time. This is my 3rd time I got really bad experience of customer service there. I don't recommend! Avoid that place!
You have to order online, then go to another location on Hubbard to fill out paper work, then do this and that ...Plus I read the reviews. I'm good on this place !!!!
I gave this place a few chances to ensure my assessment was fair. There are a few friendly outliers; however, in my first month since moving to Chicago, the only rude people I have encountered have been the employees in this store. An all around uncomfortable and unpleasant store experience. I will not be going to any Sunnyside Dispensaries. Customer lost.
First time going inside since the pandemic. I had a lot of questions and Ernest K was very helpful, informative and nice. Other staff members came by to give help as well! I am very happy I found this dispensary. Thank you for your help!!
The employees at Sunnyside went above and beyond. Not only was their customer service amazing, but in my situation I saw that they have great morals as well. I'm from California and visited Chicago this past weekend. We found Sunnyside on yelp and decided to check it out to buy some goodies for our weekend. We went in around 11 am and purchased a bunch of edibles and pre-rolls. The customer service was beyond exceptional, every employee we spoke to was friendly and helpful. The products were also great! BUT THATS NOT ALL.... a few hours after leaving I got a call from Sunnyside. Apparently as I was leaving I dropped my wallet (which had cash, ID -Definitely needed that to return to cali and credit cards) outside their store. The security at the door found it and turned it in. Luckily I had business cards in there so they were able to quickly fid my number. When I went to pick it up I tried to give them some cash as a thank you and they did not accept it. I was blown away by their kindness and honesty. I look forward to visiting sunny side again and will definitely recommend them to anyone I know visiting the area. Thank you all again!
Just a terrible ordeal. Like I'm trying to get something to chill myself out- I get stressed out just going- the process is SO irritating. Will never go back. Why are so many people having to touch my ID? It's so much work for SO little. Bud tenders are not the problem here. I don't know who's decision it was to not allow customers to tip, I wanted to! I asked to. And she said they aren't aloud. You guys make enough money to pay them a liveable wage. If you don't want to, allow tips and drop the two location order ahead crap. It's a VERY corporate feeling place not a fan. They have these weird bags and they have to staple them shut before you leave....come on.
Love this location! Sawyer and Aria helped me and were fabulous! Couldn't recommend enough!
I ordered online to wait in line to get inside to wait in line to get a ticket to take down the street to wait in line to get inside to wait in line to get my order. Took around an hour all told. Staff was really nice tho.
The most unhelpful and unfriendly staff. Just make a visit to Moca or other dispensaries and you'll see the difference. These guys are instructed to sell as fast as possible with minimum interaction with customers. Ridiculous..
I have been to this dispensary twice. The 1st time was decent- we got in and out, done. The 2nd time was a complete disaster! The employees treated my friend and I as if we did something wrong. They were exceptionally rude. Not just one employee but more than 3 were really off their game this day. I don't think this dispensary has a good business model for success. They expected everyone to order online. News flash Sunnyside owners: NOT EVERYONE IS COMFORTABLE OR EVEN KNOWS HOW TO ORDER YOUR PRODUCT ONLINE. There are so many other dispensaries in Chicago that will treat you with the respect all people deserve. If I could rate them with zero stars I would. Terrible place......choose another dispensary!
Avoid this "dispensary" at all costs! It's just not it sweetie. Head down the street to MOCA instead, seriously.I walked over and immediately was told "No Walk-ins" and that I "must place an order online". After finding the website and what I was looking for, I went to check out and was prompted to create an account. Like okay.. After creating the account I went to check out and realized the website had switched locations on me, so I had to start over with my order just to find out that the location I was at didn't sell what I was looking for. At this point I'm like done right, but I thought I'd search for something similar since I'd already been standing out front of this pathetic excuse for a dispensary for like ten minutes now. I ended up finding something comparable, which was triple the price, of course right.. went to check out only to find that "Online ordering is temporarily closed due to high demand" ..like bitch. GIMME MY SHIT! All in all, my one time experiencing this sad little flower shop, was very poor. Not to mention the "greeters" at the door were not very friendly. So I took my money elsewhere and will definitely never be back! thanks for wasting my time Sunnyside.
We ordered online at 7.15 pm, but when we arrived ( at 7.40 pm) they said it was too late and they didn't serve us ( even if the store close at 8.00 pm).
I did not have a great experience here! The staff was honestly not the nicest and I had a horrible experience with Connie. Did not communicate with the rules well. She was unhelpful and made me feel very unwelcome and I will not be back. . .
I didn't have a good experience here at all. I get there are so many rules, but my phone had died so I couldn't complete my order with their system they had in place. I had friends that were helping me on their phones, but the staff was so unhelpful on how we can do that by abiding by all their rules. One staff member named Connie was rude. I get the staff has to communicate the rules, but there is a way to do this and still be helpful and not do it rudely. I will not go back here.
I don't know if it was because I decided to go on a Monday morning, but it was the easiest process I've had in Chicago yet. This place is great! Definitely coming back
Bad weed and bad customer service. Also overpriced. Better quality, priced, and service at Moca around the corner.
First and foremost, it's almost comical how sterile this shopping experience was. I've felt more culture and personable experiences shopping on Amazon and Poshmark. With all that said, they make you wait outside in obviously cold temperatures making an account for purchase. And let's just say this "less than agile" looking girl was very rude. I figured she skipped lunch, so I gave her a pass. I have to say the best experience at that place was the security guards they were hands-down the best thing about that place and they aren't even affiliated with this ummm "company." Straight garbage pre-rolls, they need to learn how it's done by real OG's. Cart wasn't bad at all though by Verano which you can get so many other places!! Back to the streets I search for anything close to hospitality. Cheers!!
Even with Covid. I was happy to still get my medicine. I had to do a little walking from one place to the next but..it was worth it
Always a good experience. Fast, friendly and efficient. Visited today and was provided exceptional customer servide from Paul. Paul was professsional and explained and sold a product to me to help maintian the qulaity of my purchase. Appreciated his advice and great service.
Terrible experience! As a medical patient with an Illinois medical card, this store not only forced me to pay recreational taxes, but also a insisted I was only eligible to purchase 0.5oz as an "out of state" resident. I have a valid Illinois Medical card - which requires Illinois state residency as a prerequisite and says *on the card* that I am allowed to purchase 2.50 oz at a time - so this is patently absurd. I had to have a friend with an Illinois driver's license reorder for me, and then upon checkout I had lost the 15$ first order discount. I feel ripped off and disrespected, the staff (nearly all white) was not helpful and not insisted I "keep this quiet" since I shouldn't be allowed to reorder like that - as if he was doing me a favor! Never coming back, and recommend anyone with a medical card doesn't either.
I've had good service at the wrigley location, but was treated poorly at river north today. The two women working the front desk (3/27 3:30PM) checking IDs were incredibly rude and snippy, and yelled at us for not knowing how things worked (she could have just explained nicely as it was our first time there.) I can't imagine speaking to anyone like that, let alone a customer. I like this business overall, good products, but will probably have to go to the other location now to avoid this poor customer service. The staff at the cash registers and security guards outside were nicer at least.
Sunnyside is the only dispensary I've been too. I've been to both Lakeview and River North. Both locations are incredible with friendly staff. One thing that i like about Sunnyside is they always have their stuff together. When the dispensaries first became legal in illinois, all the dispensaries ran out of recreational after the first week and were no longer selling rec til basically the summer because of how unprepared they were. Sunnyside is one of the ONLY dispensaries that was still selling rec throughout the whole year. Pre-corona virus Sunnyside (at lakeview) used to have extremely long lines with 2-5 hrs waits. Now Sunnyside sells everything online so the wait when you get there ends up being about 15 mins total. And when you place an order online your confirmation for your order comes immediately so don't order until you're ready to get it right now basically. They are extremely professional and their products are good. Flower is really strong and they always have different strains to try. their inventory is constantly updating so you can always find new products the next day. out of all my visits i had one bad visit where i placed an online order and went to pick it up within the 2 hrs time slot and they were sold out so i contacted customer service about how they didn't hold my order and they gave me a discount off of my next purchase so they do take care of their customers. i've had a positive all around experience with Sunnyside. they're my go to.
drove all the way here to buy and when we get there you have to order online. their asshole website says nothing about not taking walk-in orders. buy on the street and put these assholes out of business.
Security officers wearing masks under their mouths, fully exposed, and getting within 2 feet of me I felt very uncomfortable and will not be going back!!!
Very friendly and incredibly helpful staff! Made a seemingly complicated process stress-free and easy!
This Sunnyside is only a few minutes away from where I live so I visit often. Every time I visit the staff is always so friendly and helpful. The ordering process is simple and easy. They're currently undergoing construction, but the new renovations look pretty cool, and I'm excited to see the finished look. All in all, great customer service, great product assortment, will continue to visit.
They wouldn't let my partner and I go in and select together, even after communicating that only one person would be paying. Every single person in would need to place their own separate order. I've never been to a place that was this aggressive about their stupid rules. They need to smoke some of their own or something and seriously chill.
My experience at sunnyside was the worst that I have had at a dispensary ever. The manager at the River North location was unacceptably rude and dismissive. Not to mention the fact that I was a first time patient. See below brief synopsis of what happened...After placing an order and waiting 30 minutes in line to pay, a kind gentleman working at the register let me know that an item I had ordered was "bad quality." Instead of swapping out my item for something of better quality, I had to exit the store and reenter to place a new order. When I was placing my new order, someone at the front desk even noted that the item I originally ordered was flagged as "bad quality" in their system. So I placed my new order and headed to the back of the line, which at this point was far longer than the 30 minute line I originally waited in. When I got to the register to pay, the employee informed me that the "$15 off orders over $150" promo discount could not apply to me -- even though my order was $180 -- because the subtotal was less than $150. I explained my situation: how I waited in line a first time, how I had been told that the item I ordered was of "bad quality," and how I had to wait in (a longer) line once again just to find out that my order didn't qualify to receive the store's advertised discount. The kind employee went to speak to his manager, who then came up to me and handled the situation unacceptably. As I tried to explain what had happened, he would either interrupt me or cut me off. He then explained that what I had heard from TWO of HIS EMPLOYEES immediately prior to this was false. I asked if there was anything he could do to make me want to come back in the future and he abruptly said "no." The employee apologized, but I have never been treated so disrespectfully at a cannabis dispensary. I will actively not recommend sunnyside to any of my fellow cannabis users. There's enough competition in the Chicago area now, so sunnyside should step up their game.
It was extremely rude how the guy at the front wouldn't let me go in with my boyfriend unless we preorder more then 1 item. What we bought was for both of us . I've been to plenty of dispensaries and this one was just not the best vibe . We are here on vacation and had to wait outside in the cold , alone in a city I didn't know . I get Covid just happened but as a couple who is spending money there should be let in together.
Go anywhere else if you can. It's SO EXPENSIVE and for what? Waited in line for awhile and you don't actually get to shop displays. You have to choose from the tablet the employees are holding up, which is fine but when there's a long line behind me waiting I'm not going to take my time and browse (* anxiety *). I spent $45 on a 100 MG thing of gummies that I normally get for $30 or less everywhere else.
I love this dispensary so much! I've been to other locations of Sunnyside before but this one is my go-to. Not only due to the convenient location, but the amazing SUPERSTAR staff!!! I usually buy 1 gram sativa cartridges and they always have a great selection not just one or two (with great discounts!) I dropped my cartridge in the trash accidentally, and after a mental breakdown and some dumpster diving I went back and they replaced my cart. I didn't have to beg them to do it either, they were so kind and willing to help. It was so nice of them and they made sure I didn't feel bad about it as well. I'll definitely be returning, Sunnyside River North is THE BEST!!!!
This place is rip off . I got two small ass pre rolls for $40. Would not come here again!
I love Sunnyside. It's always a pleasant experience. You do have to place an order online and create an account. Make sure you select the proper location BEFORE filling up your cart. It looks like a lot of these reviews are from people upset about having to create an account. I understand being frustrated if you are not tech savvy, but at the end of the day, it keeps the lines moving at a good pace and the business safer space during this pandemic.
Super Pricey. 0 customer incentives. I spend thousands of dollars a month here. Today was my last visit. Plenty of better dispensaries. This is a total tourist trap. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!
I can't in good conscience give this place a favorable review. The customer experience here for walk ins is bad. I've been to other dispensaries where the legally necessary security checkpoints and general customer flow are noticeable but not quite offensive or annoying. At sunny they ship you through every moment of it like youre cattle or something. Very discombobulated staffers at the checkpoints either have too much information to share, have no idea what the others just told you, or both. At least one of them seemed a little too medicated. It was unclear whether or not you could just browse by yourself based on what these folks were telling you. It was also unclear whether the physical displays products made up the entire menu. The 3rd of fourth staffer showed me an iPad that had everything on it but it felt uncomfortable browsing while someone is standing next to you waiting to get their iPad back. Y'all have to change that somehow if you're reading this. Then they make you walk through a queue where they're hoping you'll make some impulse buys on after market type stuff. I was already so annoyed by the experience that I didn't wanna go down a consumer rat maze just to buy over priced edibles. To make matters worse, the ppl with medical cards seem to have an even worse customer exp than I had. Get it together, sunny, don't tempt us to return to the black market.
Service could be friendlier. The guy yelled at me as I was leaving cause he thought I was gonna take the product out of the bag. No, I'm just trying to shove this big bulky bright yellow bag into my purse. I literally bought three small tiny products do I need this big shopping bag? The canister with the flower was very difficult to open OMG! I actually pinched my finger... I feel like a kid trying to pry open the cap into my own meds other than that the herb did what it's supposed to do. Nothing special about this dispensary except the location was convenient to walk to.
Good place. Location is super convenient, very nice inside. Service was great. I believe her name was Jeanette. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, super nice when she checked my receipt. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again.
A lovely joint! I had a bit of tech trouble with the online ordering, so I they let me inside to help straighten it out. They helped teally quickly and were very friendly and knowledgeable and kind. I loved my experience!
This was my first time visiting Sunnyside River north location and I must say I’m really impressed with the store. The lady at the check in (Mikaya) was really sweet and welcomed me in a really nice way. After going to the counter to pick my order up , the cashier at the counter Ernest was really helpful too and he also recommended me some great flowers. It’s always a good dispensary when the employees know their stuff. Overall I had a great experience ! Must visit dispensary in Chicago!
Was immediately greeted by a courteous security guard who allowed us to sit inside as we made our selections online. Staff was super awesome and friendly. I would go back, and I highly recommend(no pun intended). Good vibes all around! ?
The store was super cute, staff was very nice. after checking in with ID at the front I did notice the printout price for my purchase was $5 more than website total even with my discount code applied. I mentioned it to the clerk and they took care of it immediately. so overall good experience and Good service. If the product turns out good, I’d shop here again?
