Yes I was going to a different dispensary and yes I did a review for them also, this place opened up in may 2018 in Rogers Park (my new neighborhood) And I have to say their selection puts my old dispensary to shame they even offer specials on a regular basis and almost always have 1/2oz popcorn nugs at a price that really can't be beat in Chicago and let's face it other than the size of the nugs there's no difference in THC or CBD levels. Now let's talk about customer service everyone says how much they love their dispensary well let me tell you my first time going there I got a bit lost I have not been in that part of Rogers Park before and I had already spoken to them and told them that I'm blind, well when I had a hard time finding them they literally came and got me (I was almost 5 blocks to far west) I even got to meet the owner so when it comes to true customer service you don't know what you're missing and so far every suggestion and they have given to me has been spot on they even have reward points, which come in very handy near the end of the month.
Love this place and the people but they're not always good about making sure they're giving you the advertised specials and rates. They've been responsive to fixing this in the past but I've had it happen 4-5 times.
I've been to many dispensary's and GreenGate has the most exceptional service and very knowledgeable on their products. Ownership is very passionate about the business and pricing is extremely competitive. I highly recommend this place.

Everyone is very friendly and caring! Very knowledgeable and they explain what you need to know and answer all questions with details. Sadly it has gone downhill :( I started w/ GreenGate in the Spring of 2019. The people were nice and helpful. NOT ANYMORE :( In fact the owner could give to f-*-s on how I felt even after talking to him about my feelings of not being cared for. Did all the kind & caring people leave? I'm so bummed. Since I'm an mmj patient I'm ok w/ them not selling recreational. However, for people who do want recreational they can't even get that here either. Also, if you don't like your job or don't want to help people (especially people who have health conditions), get a different job :(

My dispensary was out of the flower I need to control my gastro issues. But they went out of their way to help me, by calling other dispensaries to find the flower. And I was sent to GreenGate. The store is clean, comfortable, and easy to get through. It appeared that they had a large inventory, and I was able to purchase another strain of flower (good for stomach issues) that I didn't know existed! They helped me switch dispensaries, held product for me, and were so very helpful when I went to pick up my medicine. Big thanks to Connor, Chastity, and Josh for all your help.
I truly believe this is one of the few medical dispensaries in Chicago that puts patients before profits. I appreciate the easy ordering and curbside pick up they offer to keep both patients and employees safe. Excellent selection and often a few dollars less than some of the other dispensaries near me. After having such an awful first experience, I've been coming here more often and boy has the service and employees improved so much! They are so much nicer and they have helped me more than before. They simplify your order so it runs smoothly. Prices are very reasonable! Everything has been great so far thanks Greengate!
This dispensary has only been open a few months & they are the new kids on the block but they are making up for lost time as they are a like a treasure waiting to be discovered!There is always ample parking in their lot & they are centrally located near public trans. GreenGate carry's approx 50 strains of flower and extensive product availability on tincture, cartridge, concentrates, edibles, hashish, Leif, lotion/balm, patches, & more. Their extremely knowledgeable staff will also take special orders. The level of service I have experienced is nothing short of exemplary! Always going above & beyond! The pricing is also great & did I mention there is a point reward program for purchases. The are open 7 days a week with great hours! I had an amazing experience at GreenGate. As someone who is just dipping their toe into THC use, I can use all the help I can get. Hannah was so knowledgeable and I felt at ease taking her recommendations cause I could tell she was stoked to get me exactly what I needed.
I am a huge fan of GreenGate and have spent thousands of dollars here. Today, to my surprise, I found out they went corporate and are allowing recreational. I understand they are going through changes, however, a little notice would've been nice. Now, the online ordering system is confusing and there is a disclaimer that states they won't reserve product or any guarantee that it will be in stock. I thought medical patients were supposed to be the priority. I guess that's no longer the case. It's very upsetting and I hope they iron things out through this transition. The staff is wonderful and all of the security as well. I'm just disappointed that us medical patients no longer have a place to call our own.
I want to thank y'all green gators for your help the other day. I'm a 71yrs. Old who hasn't been following the health benefits of marijuana or what products I should get. With your help I was able to get the right stuff. Otherwise I would have been lost. Thanks again. TimStar rating 5
Pretty crushed by the shift from med only to recreational. Not only do they not prioritize their patients (unlike other dispos with med customers) but they dont build the med tax into the pricing. So the zen leaf takeover has limited the number of growers because of the Verano push, raised prices on med customers overnight, and destroyed the loyalty points system. I'm switching to D33 or MedMen, where at least they embrace being corporate and build the med Tax into pricing. I'm so sad. This dispensary used to be the shizzz.
Very friendly. It's nice to have a place in the neighborhood. 20% discount on 4/20. Great selection. They even have lollipops for free. My new favorite place.
Nice clean place with friendly staff. But I'm a medical user and they have just one Sativa strain?!?! That makes the place useless to me, I need Jack Herer and the like. Oh well, it's Greengate's loss, but for a week now....just one Sativa strain and it's not one that cures my ails. Would have been nice to have a place within walking distance. Oh well. {sigh}
This is by far the greatest dispensary in the entirety of chicago. Super friendly staff, knowledgeable about literally EVERYTHING, respectful of my pronouns !! Good quality stuff for sale as well, and the deals they run make waiting on a medical card not too pricey. I would literally die for every single person in this building who has ever helped me with my purchases -- you are truly the sunshine in our lives -- Special shout-out to the person who wears a beanie and glasses with blonde hair -- we have the best conversations and they don't even get mad that i come every 2 days because i don't know my own usage! Love ya GG !!

The staff are always friendly. And the products are good when they are functional. It’s pretty expensive and they don’t have points system or rewards like other dispensaries I’ve been to. My only bad experience to date would be when I purchased a vape pen and it was completely dead upon opening the package. I called Greengate and was told to come back so that they can start the claims process. When I get there all they do is hand me a card with an email and told me that they can’t do anything. Even though this all occurred within 30 minutes. As of 5 days later, I still haven’t received any response or refund of any kind. I can’t say whether you should shop here or not, but I won’t be taking a chance anymore.
Attention former military. Had 15% former United States military discount. After they were bought out I was told I would be grand fathered at 15% and had been getting said discount. Went to pick up order and was told it was now 10%. Shaddy to tell customers one thing and then act like they don't know what I am talking about. My military brothers and sisters should fine a provider that honors their service.
High prices reflect apparent greed of new ownership, selection just okay. Products are however always dated well and staff is top- notch (only reason I stay). What was once the best med only shop in Chicago has quickly downgraded into a commercialized, money-centered chain. Reinstate discount for med patients please? Thanks!
